I was playing with my ps3 fat (40gb) when the power went out. Once power was restored, my ps3 gave me YLOD.

The console itself always worked perfect, I changed the thermal paste several times and cleaned it. My question is if there could be a surge in tension that burned it or that it could be damaged? is there any solution?
Thank you.

Probably a small conection somewhere burned out due to a power surge when the electricity went out. You might be able to fix it by taking the system appart and using a heat gun on the motherboard. There are some pretty good how to videos you can look up, however this will most likely be a temporary fix.

A few years ago, I caved and sent my PS3 to Sony for repairs. Cost $120 but my system has woked fine since then. I recommend that if they still offer the service.
