The way I see it:

MS is the Empire because of the size of their company and because of their bad business practices.

Sony is the Republic because they carry a standard and also break promises

Nintendo are the Rebels because they think outside of the box on ways to take down MS and Sony.

Sony is the Confederacy of Independent Systems. They were partnered with Nintendo until they got pissed off, broke off, and formed their own government, and also the Galactic Empire for overcoming the Republic

Nintendo is the Rebel Alliance for defeating the Galactic Empire and gaining back their place with the Wii

Microsoft is the Yuuzhan Vong for attempting to completely destroy both the Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance

Nintendo overcame them as the New Republic

the way I see it, Atari, and the rest of the pre NES console makers were the republic back in the old days.

when Atari fell, Nintendo took control (the Empire)

after years of Nintendo ruling the industry, Sony rebelled against them (the rebels) and took control of the industry, eventually becoming the new republic.

Microsoft is that weird alien race that I always forget the name of that tries to take down the new republic.

Sony and Microsoft can be whoever. But Nintendo is still the Civic. The cheap, durable, point A to B gaming machine of this generation.

Yea, but still, that Civic is modded with two proton torpedo launchers with Luke at the controls......

You maybe right to say that the Civic is cheap and it gets from point A to point B, but sometimes that's a GOOD thing, not a BAD thing. Simplicity sometimes have a beauty all to its own. This is way Honda simply DOMINATES the U.S. car market. Their performance right now have GM running their pants off trying to compete. Why? Because their cars like the Civic and Accord are realetivly cheap, get the job done at a effecient and contains high quality and in the customers' eyes, a GOOD VALUE! I would love a car like the Ferrari Enzo (Ahh.....My unltimate dream car.....If I only have 500K extra to blow. >.

For some reason, my dream cars are all basic, simple rides. A nice restored 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood 2 door, a nice 1996 Impala, maybe an 88 Olds Cutlass all decked out.

The Wii would be Empire Strikes Back, as in Nintendo was an empire, and now they're grabbing more market share...

I would actually think actually that Nintendo is akin to the Old Republic in the Prequals. Big, massive, powerful but also, corrupt, arrogant and running out of time but didn't know it yet because a new upstart lead by a man named Palpatine (AKA Sony) was on the rise. Then Palpatine, aka Sony took over, becoming the dominant leader of the Galaxy, reducing Nintendo to Rebel status. After years in power, the Empire that is Sony have become just as arrogant and corrupt like the Old Republic, to show their massive power, they arrogantly build this huge massive battle station called the Death Star (AKA PS3) with massive amount of power and size and can do thing like blowing up whole entire plants (Display HD in 1080P). The rebels(aka Nintendo) can't compete with this, But they found a fatal weakness in the Death Start and decided to attack that weakness for massive damage (sorry, can't help myself. HEHE). Their weapon was non other then the X-Wing (Wii), which seemed incredibly underpowered compared to the Death Star. However, the rebels, like Nintendo, has an ace up their sleeve. That's because the pilot of that X-Wing is non other than Luke Skywalker himself (Aka, the wiimote)....

Ohh yea, another one of my dream car.....The original Pink Cadillac......Man, the first time I saw it in a video.....I was in LOVE!
