Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Catch The Glittering Herring

You'd better hope it's stormin'.

Comments

Disney Dreamlight Valley is filled with quests to complete for your many beloved villagers, and they're usually as simple as having you navigate across the valley fetching items or speaking to other friends. But in the case of Elsa's level 6 quest "What Home Feels Like", you'll need to catch a Glittering Herring in a specific place during a specific weather event, so read on to find out how to fish one up.

How to catch the Glittering Herring

"What Home Feels Like" tasks you with rounding up a wide selection of ingredients needed to cook the Fish Pie meal that she hopes will make her feel more at home in your valley. One of those ingredients is the rare Glittering Herring, which is not to be confused with the standard herring that you can fish up nearly any other time. Instead, you'll need to go to the Glade of Trust and fish for the Glittering Herring on a rainy day.

Now Playing: 20 Tips For Beginners In Disney Dreamlight Valley

When you arrive at the Glade of Trust in the midst of a storm, seek out a gold fishing ripple, as that's where you'll have the highest chance of catching a Glittering Herring--though it's worth noting that you can also still catch a lobster from these ripples, so it may take some time. If you don't see any gold ripples, be sure to fish at normal ripples until you get one to spawn.

Note: As of this writing, many players have reported being able to catch the Glittering Herring before accepting the "What Home Feels Like" quest. If this happens to you, it can block progress in the quest, which will require you to wait for a future patch that will hopefully fix the bug. Some players say they're able to use the previously caught fish to complete the quest, while others state this doesn't work for them. Your mileage may vary.
