Actor Jason Momoa has commented on his 2011 Conan the Barbarian movie, saying it was "turned into a big pile of sh**." The actor told GQ that he had a wonderful timing making the movie, but lamented what happened next, when things were outside of his control.

"I've been a part of a lot of things that really sucked, and movies where it's out of your hands," Momoa said. "Conan [the Barbarian] was one of them. It's one of the best experiences I had and it [was] taken over and turned into a big pile of sh**."

Conan the Barbarian also starred Ron Perlman, Rose McGowan, and Stephen Lang. The film didn't do so great at the box office, pulling just $63.5 million against a reported budget of $90 million.

Right after that movie, Momoa went on to appear in HBO's Game of Thrones as Khal Drogo. He told GQ that it "would have been great" to continue to appear on the show, but he admitted, "It's just the way Drogo had to go," referencing how his character died, was brought back to life, and then died again.

Momoa has a number of upcoming projects in the works, including Slumberland for 2022, as well as The Last Manhunt and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom next year. He's also lined up to play a villain in Fast X and could appear in the Minecraft movie.
