Nintendo announces Metroid Prime: Hunters will be Wi-Fi-enabled when it arrives next year.

Earlier this week, DS owners eagerly awaiting the release of Metroid Prime: Hunters got some bad news. Although a demo of the game shipped with the DS last year, the game itself was delayed until next year, pushed back from this October.

Today, though, those same gamers got some good news, as it turns out the delay is not in vain. Saying Metroid fans' "patience has paid off," Nintendo announced today that when Hunters does ship, it will do so with total access to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, the company's forthcoming online service. Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection will go online later this year, with Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing DS being the first games to support it.
