Sony has revealed the PlayStation overlay function for PC, a new interface bringing many more PlayStation elements to the platform--starting with Ghost of Tsushima.

What this overlay function does is that it shows you your friends list, Trophies, settings, and your profile from your PlayStation account on your Windows PC. To pull it up, it's as simple as pressing Shift + F1 shortcut on your keyboard or accessing it through the in-game menu. The PlayStation overlay is also completely optiona for Ghost of Tsushima's single-player experience and its Legends multiplayer mode.

When Playing Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut on PC, you can earn Trophies just as if you were playing it on PlayStation consoles. Both the PC and PS5 versions share the same Trophy list. However, if you like Steam and Epic Games Store Achievements, the PC version supports those too.

We'll presumably see future PlayStation games on PC use the overlay function, but it's unclear if past releases will retroactively add it.

Sony's commitment to releasing games on PC has become stronger over the years, as it acquired Nixxes Software to help out with creating PC ports. Additionally, PlayStation VR2 is adding PC-game support in the future.
