The most dynamic player in the Madden franchise over the past five years has been removed from the game. Michael Vick, the Falcon's star awaiting sentencing for dog fighting related charges, was removed from the Madden NFL 08 roster update. There has been quite a bit of speculation over the past several weeks as to what EA Sports was going to do with Vick - and the removal has many Madden die hards very happy, and many very upset.
The split in opinion comes from five years of trying to defend against a quarterback with dynamic passing and running capabilities. Vick's NFL problem, his decision making ability, is taken out of the equation in Madden because the gamer decides when Vick runs and when he throws. With his speed and arm strength, mixed in with a slew of tall WR's, the Falcons have been the most dominating Madden team in the game over the past five years. Three of the past four Madden Challenge National Champions have used the Falcons to take the crown. The gamers that have utilized Vick are devastated that he's no longer in the game, while the gamers that try to defend against him are quite happy.
With Vick out of the game, there is only one true mobile quarterback left - cover star Vince Young. However, the Titans don't have many other stars to help Young out, so only time will tell if he can replace Vick as a Madden favorite. Other notable roster changes - Simeon Rice is now on the Broncos roster which gives the Broncos two solid DE's to rush the passer. Chris Henry - suspended by the NFL for the first 8 games of the season - is still on the Bengals roster. His combination of speed and height make him a very dangerous Madden receiver.

I say good ridance to Vick, they should have put Henry on the IR list. I dont get how they removed Adam Jones but left Henry in when they received similar suspensions; I mean they should both either still be there or be gone.

I just hope they moved Trotter to the Bucs. Vick had to go. he's suspended indefinitely. Chris Henry should be gone too. Its not like they wont have another roster update before week 8. EA is just being lazy. They disappoint sometimes with the short cuts they take.
Not a good idea to only release it for the 360 and PS3 what about the other 100,000 people that bout the games on Xbox, PS2, PC, and the rest of the other systems. If your going to do one you better do all.

Knew this was comin eventually...... dont forget mcnabb hes still sorta quick plus he still a good passer so vick cheesers will run over to the eagles before they'll ever think playin with titans who dont even have a WR or TE i can name

About time, now EA needs to address his use in the Madden Challenges.
FINALLY!!! Now Madden will truly be about skill, not people scrambling back to their end zone to fling a 80 yard bomb to Michael Jenkins who can't catch a cold in real life but miraculously pulls the ball down over 4 people. So long, Jarvis and all those other gay Vick cheesers on the Challenge.

Removing vick is cool he was vastly overratred 50 career passer should never beat you throwing the ball if vick wasnt fast he would,nt be in the league his qb skills didnt get him in it was the hope that a coach could make him better at passing with his running skills is how he got in

Was waiting for this. The Henry suspension is only part of the season, so he's not going to be put on IR. I think Jones should've been put on IR, not removed. Vick was removed, because his suspension is INDEFINITE. Jones' suspension is for 1 year, although he could be denied reinstatement.
Seneca Wallace is fast as hell in this game u could always start him for the seahawks, he is an 82 overall with 85 speed i believe

Only if all other suspended players are removed, then remove Vick. You sorry ass people that cry about Vick, learn to play football and you will know how to stop him. I truly believe most comments are a predjudice thing. It's hard for many people and the NFL to accept black QBs(General of the team). They just don't want blacks to lead. I look at lots of black QBs coming from college, move to WR, KR,ect...... a set up for failure. Maybe one day in life, you type of people will let all the BS go, and look at it as if we all bleed the same color BLOOD. Ease up off of Vick and see it as a small mistake that he has made and leave all other comments alone. Dogfighting - a sport, Deer hunting - a sport, Quail Hunting - a sport, moral of this story is that all are a sport and cruelty to animals, but harsh punishment is expected of only one.
