The NBA's Most Devastating Moves

Today, Sportsgamer checks out the 5 most devastating Superstar moves in NBA Live 08.

Today, Sportsgamer checks out the 5 most devastating Superstar moves in NBA Live 08. Taking nothing away from Kobe Bryant’s fadeaway, the 5 moves we selected create open 3-point looks almost every time they are executed. Because superstar moves don’t suffer from accuracy penalties like normal fadeaways, these moves are particularly effective.

#5: Baron Davis

Coming in at No.5, Baron Davis’ hop step fadeaway is a great bailout in case your offense breaks down. The move covers good ground but the animation plays slow giving faster opponents a chance to recover and disrupt the shot. Davis isn’t a natural 3-point shooter so you will want to target the left corner of the court to increase you chance of success.

#4: Gilbert Arenas

Logging in at No.4 is our cover boy, Gilbert Arenas. Arenas’ hesitation drive step-back is one of the slowest Superstar moves and the step itself only produces slight separation. The reason the move is so devastating is that Gilbert is very accurate from dead-center and either wing. Isolation plays from the top of the 3-point line will almost always result in a quality look.

#3: Dwayne Wade

No one gets away with extra steps like Dwayne Wade and that’s why he’s No.3 on our list. His hop step is not only fast, it also gets fantastic separation from the defender. Because most opponents want to restrict his drive, this shot will always be available. The only knock against Wade is that he is not a dominant outside shooter and the move probably works best at 18-20 feet out.

#2: Deron Williams

Our No.2 selection, Deron Williams may surprise some of you but his cross-over side step is nearly impossible to defend. The move has little hesitation and creates a great deal of separation. What vaults him to No.2 is that he has hotspots all over the floor. He will nail any medium to long range shot as long as it is a relatively open look.

#1: Chauncey Billups

And finally, the most devastating move in NBA Live 08 belongs to… Chauncey Billups! Like Williams, Chauncey’s move is lightning fast and moves him laterally about 3-4 feet. Chauncey’s ball handling and passing skills make press defense dangerous. Although not as proficient from 18 feet as some of the athletes before him, Billups is very dangerous from 3-point range. If that wasn’t enough, every Piston can hit a catch and shoot making the double-team a non-factor.
