In the first two images you can not only see what the defensive assignments look like out of the huddle, but you can also see what they should look after calling for the fake blitz. Calling for the fake blitz changes the left inside linebacker's blitz angle to now shoot right through the A-gap just to the left of the center. Take a look at the next image for a closer view.
This is what your defensive line should look like after you have called for a fake blitz. The left inside linebacker is the defender leaning over just to the left of the center. As soon as the quarterback takes the snap our defender begins rushing straight down. Meanwhile, the A-gap opens up as the offensive linemen try to block down on our rushers.
Our linebacker is able to get to the quarterback before he can even get 5 yards deep in the backfield. The big sack from Ohio State on third down forces the Purdue Boilermakers to have to settle for the field goal.
