NBA Ballers: Chosen One - Super Moves Revealed

April 14, 2008 4:51 pm - Author: Shanker Srinivasan

Midway has released the list of "super" moves in their arcade-style hoops game, NBA Ballers: Chosen One. Super moves are earned in game by lighting up the scoreboard, playing solid defense, and generally making your opponent look like a fool on the court. Once earned, the super moves can be used to shut the door on your foe (and earn powerups). Check out the full list of moves below along with the superstar from which the move is unlocked. You can also check out the corresponding video posted on GameSpot.

Level 1:

Super Jukes

Super Juke 1 - "Up and Under"
First Cassel hits 'em with the cobra bite twice, then transitions to a planetary reverse which he eventually pops up into the air and finishes with a London Bridge, snagging the rock on the opposite side of his opponent with a clean lane to the basket.

Super Juke 2 - "Over The Top"
Bibby's shut 'em down super juke starts with an elaborate over the rainbow, that actually has him pulling off a back breaker mid-juke and finishing up the over the rainbow on the opposite side of his opponent with the pot 'o gold in his hands!

Super Juke 3 - "Knee-jected!"
Chauncey's super juke opens with an off the knee boink-bam that actually goes up into the air and is caught by his feet in the middle of a two handed reverse tomato garden. He finishes the move by tossing the rock back into the air and then catches it while running towards the hoop.

Super Juke 4 - "Jump The Shark"
Durant's super starts with a double reverse London bridge that transitions into a Frogger while his opponent stumbles to grab it. Once on the other side Durant grabs the rock and charges at the basket.

Super Juke 5 - "Now U C It - Now U Don't!"
This super juke (belonging to the great J. Kidd) starts off with a one handed reverse ice cream scoop, followed by a shove with the left hand while he catches it with the right. After two of these Kidd does a reverse Vine followed by a London Bridge!

Super Juke 6 - "Illusion"
B. Diddy's super juke starts off with a behind the back pass that he transitions into a knitted knuckle roll followed by an around the world, which he then pops up into the air while he spins off his opponent. He catches the rock on the opposite side of his opponent, leaving an open lane straight to the hoop.

Super Juke 7 - "Confuzion"
This shut 'em down super starts off with a butter in the pan (notice the point!) and then transitions to a neck brace that is popped up into the air and finished with a London Bridge.

Super Juke 8 - "C U Next Fall"
To unlock this Shut 'Em Down super you'll have to defeat A.I. himself. Inspired by his breaking days as a young man, this move starts off with a one handed windmill while his hand is ON THE BALL, that causes him to trip up his opponent Capoeira style. After a secondary windmill (for show) he grabs the rock and trots off towards the basket.

Super Juke 9 - "Windmillz"
This Shut 'Em Down Super Juke starts off with a Boink-Bam which casues the opposition to go down on all fours. Windmillz creator D. Wade doesn't stop for a minute as he slams the rock down on the ground and then does a windmill on his opponents BACK before dismounting, grabbing the rock and heading off to the hoop.

Super Juke 10 - "Out-Take"
Stephon Marubry gets gully with this move as he tosses the rock up into the air and then does a one kick, causing the ball to bounce off of the D's head and back into his hand. Dazed, the D takes a seat and Steph heads towards the rock with the ball.

Super Steals

Super Steal 1: "Spin Cycle"
In this super steal the defense pops the rock out of the offensive players hands and then charges him wit a spin cycle, knocking him down on the ground and leaving the D in possession of the ball.

Super Steal 2: "Wagon Wheel"
In this super steal, Agent Zero snatches the rock out of the offensive players hand in a quick 1-2, crossing it back underneath his legs and into his other hand. He then bounces the rock off of the pavement and between his opponents legs, while doing a Wagon Wheel on the other side. When it comes to steals, Agent Zero is sick with it.

Super Steal 3: "Sommer Time"
First, CP3 snatches the rock away from the offense and then brings it behind his back. Then he tosses it from behind his back up and over the offensive player, who attempts to jump up and grab it. While the offensive player is mid-air, CP3 does a somersault underneath his opponent and grabs the rock as it comes down on the other side.

Super Steal 4: "Keep Away"
In this Shut 'Em Down super steal, Paul Pierce yanks the rock away from the O and pops it up so that it lands on the back of his neck. The offensive player then tries to take two swipes at him to knock the ball loose, but PP keeps him on his toes by back up. The end of the move has PP rolling the rock up his arm and then through his opponents legs.

Super Steal 5: "Tumble Dry"
To unlock this Shut 'Em Down super move, you are going to need to first learn it from the ever gymnastic Kirk Hinrich. This move has him lunging at the ball with both hands forward, then pulling off two tumbles with the rock tucked into his chest, finally getting vertical again by doing a rolling head plant up to his feet. You've gotta check this one out!

Level 2:

Super Shots

Super Shot 1: "Rock The Roll"
Nowitzki's super shot starts by him tossing the rock up into the air and then catching it on his neck and letting it roll down his back. Once the rock falls off of his back it bounces once on the ground, and then Mr. Nowitz kicks it with the back of his foot up and towards the basket. He stops and stuns for a minute while the ball is in flight and then... Perfect swish!

Super Shot 2: "Diamond Cutter"
This Shut 'Em Down move belongs to Larry Legend himself. It starts off with a diamond cutter that Larry then pops up into the air, catches mid air and then releases for a perfect shot. You know Larry... The guy is lethal from anywhere on the court!

Super Shot 3: "Bicicleta"
This shut 'em down move belongs to Sweet Ray Allen. In this Shut 'Em Down move Ray tosses the rock up and then does a bicycle kick to rocket the ball towards the hoops. At the end he stunts a little bit by doing the cabbage patch.

Super Shot 4: "Reign Maker"
This Shut 'Em Down move starts off with double Saturn rings and then transitions into a flip up into the air which the player catches on the back of his knee. He then tosses it back up in the air, catches it and shoots the long ball. Nothing but net.

Super Shot 5: "Striker"
Steve Nash starts off this move by tossing the rock up into the air and off of the top of his head, he then does a two handed plant, catching the ball in-between his feet on the way down. Nash then pushes up and off of the ground with his hands, sending himself and the rock flying towards the hoop.

Super Blocks

Super Block 1: "Git Out"
This Shut 'Em Down super block belongs to the mighty Yao Ming. It starts with Yao rushing the offensive player. As he shoots, Yao takes flight and does a 360 spin in the air while simultaneously raising his hand and delivering a crushing block. At the end, Yao stares at the camera and pulls a Danza, reminding his opponents who's the boss...

Super Block 2: "Mosh Pit"
Hope that you are never on the receiving end of Chris Bosh's intimidating Shut 'Em Down block. In this move Chris simply jumps up and palms the ball out of his opponents hands. Once they both land he lays a shoulder into the opponent that you will not soon forget...

Super Block 3: "Gimmie That"
Talk about disrespect. This Super Block is basic, but gets the job done. The offense takes a shot, and before it can even reach the top of it's arc, you come swooping in and take it away. This one is a riot. You have to check it out.

Super Block 4: "Doink!"
One of the best blocks in the game and if you want it you'll have to prove to T-Mac that you've got what it takes to be the next Chosen One. T-Mac jumps up into the air and swats the shot so hard that it actually bounces off of his opponents head and back into T-Mac's hands. Awesome.

Super Block 5: "Ninja S.W.A.T."
This Super Block, inspired by the high-flying antics of the EMC Ninjas, has the big fundamental turning himself almost horizontal in mid-air while delivering a thunderous block to the opposition.

Level 3:

Super Dunks

Super Dunk 1: "Aerial Attack"
LeBron is the keeper of this Shut 'Em Down dunk, so if you want to learn it you'll have to defeat him to get the chance. This dunk has LeBron taking off from behind the free throw line and slamming it home.

Super Dunk 2: "Kong's Jam"
Amare Stoudemire's Shut 'Em Down dunk is a one handed 360 guerilla slam from the free throw line. Perfection truly is the beauty and power of this dunk.

Super Dunk 3: "VC"
Of course our man Vince Carter comes through on this Shut 'em down dunk that he made famous years ago during the slam dunk competition. VC is one of the top high flyers in the game and his Shut 'Em Down dunk certainly is no exception.

Super Dunk 4: "Rotation Elevation"
Everybody loves this dunk. Through the legs with the left and over to the right for a one handed slam dunk finish... All mid-air.

Super Dunk 5: "Arachnid"
Big Daddy Diesel slams home this Shut 'Em Down super dunk. A two handed power slam that finishes with Shaq hanging upside-down from the hoop like a spider. You gotta check it out!

Super Dunk 6: "Poster Boy"
KG comes through with a high flying two handed double pump 360 slam. 'Nuff said.

Super Dunk 7: "Two-Tre Real"
The Mamba himself gives a nod to the best by launching from the free throw line with this incredible one handed slam dunk.

Super Dunk 8: "Thunder"
Pure...Power...Grace...Elegance... Another Shut 'em down super dunk to dazzle your senses.

Super Dunk 9: "Target Practice"
This one we can't even spoil for you but if you've been watching basketball lately, then you've probably seen this dunk... A lot.

Super Dunk 10: "Mr. 720"
Jason Richardson defies gravity with the incredible 720 dunk. This is Unbelievable stuff... You've got to love this game!

The next evolution of sports games should be facial expressions. These moves would look so much better without the stone-faced stare they have going now.
