NASCAR 09 Soundtrack Details

April 22, 2008 6:38 am - Author: Daniel Grundei

Video games are quickly becoming known for the quality of their soundtrack nearly as much as the quality of their gameplay. A great soundtrack can make a game, and catapult a musician's careers. I had the opportunity to sample the soundtrack of EASport's upcoming title, NASCAR 09. This game will release in June, and no word has been officially released by EA in regards to how complete the soundtrack is. Currently, EA has added 15 tracks, which consists a mix of hard rock, punk rock, and country. The mix is sure to entice gamers to keep their foot on the gas pedal as each song is an adrenaline pounding track. Even the country songs have a very up-tempo feel, as opposed to the "my dog ran away, my wife left me" type of vibe of some country tunes.

This soundtrack features some well established artists, such as P.O.D. and AFI, who are quickly becoming a staple of all video game soundtracks. However, where EASports has been able to excel is finding new artists, and jumpstarting their careers by adding them to huge video game titles. This year is no different, with the addition of two songs by newcomer, Jet Black Stare. Their first single "Ready To Roll" will hit radio stations all across North America in early April followed by the record release in late June. Here's a list of the other titles included in the NASCAR 09 soundtrack.
