In the second part of Madden NFL 09 Power Rankings, we rank teams 27-32. If you missed teams 32-28 you can check them out here. And don't forget to stop by our forums and share your thoughts with us!

When your leading rusher was Ron Dayne, things aren’t good. I guess that’s why they drafted RB Steve Slaton, who should be an upgrade. Quarterback Matt Schaub should have nice targets in Andre Johnson and TE Owen Daniels. The bright spot for the Texans is their good defense lead by Mario Williams. They have the speed on D to get to the QB and stop offenses. Unfortunately they don’t have many offensive weapons of their own.

Long gone are the days of the “Greatest Show on Turf”. Also gone is long time Ram Isaac Bruce. What’s left? Well you still have Bulger, Holt and Jackson. All three are rated highly at their positions. This should help the Rams stay competitive in Madden. Their defense is also suspect but rookie Chris Long should add some much needed speed on defense to get to the quarterback.

Good defense but runningback and quarterback positions are sort of weak. Cadillac Williams will take a dip in ratings after the year he had, but he should still take over as the no 1. RB. Jeff Garcia will be passing the ball to his main target Joey Galloway. I’m just not sure if the Bucs have enough weapons.

Mike Martz and his crazy passing attack are gone. The Lions will have a new playbook and maybe a new philosophy. They drafted RB Kevin Smith in the 3rd round, and he could get some playing time in an already crowded backfield. The problem it’s filled with average runningbacks. In Madden, the Lions should stay pass happy considering they’ll have two very good WRs in Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson. You have a passing game that will be hard to stop, even if you have Jon Kitna throwing the ball. The Lions would be a better Madden team if their defense was better.

This is another team with a gaggle of average quarterbacks. Jake Delhomme should take over as the no.1 again. Hopefully he can get back to playing at a high level because he’ll have one of the best WRs in Madden to throw the ball to in Steve Smith. The Panthers should have a good running game after drafting RB Jonathan Stewart. You could have packages with Stewart and Williams in the backfield at the time. And as always the Panthers defense should be solid with Julius Peppers putting pressure on the quarterback.
