Madden 09: Running Back Ratings

June 2, 2008 4:47 pm - Author: Shanker Srinivasan

Madden 09: Running Backs

The collection of all-time great running backs is even greater than that of the quarterbacks, including names such as Barry Sanders, Walter Peyton, and the greatest dual-threat back to ever play, Thurman Thomas. According to our Madden though, many current stars rival Thomas' pass-catching ability including Brian Westbrook and even rookie Chris Johnson.

Despite Adrian Peterson's monster games last season, Madden isn't ready to anoint him as the premier back in the game quite yet. Tomlinson continues to reign supreme with not a single relevant stat under 90 except catching (still a solid 87). Expect to see plenty of Charger opponents online again this year.

If Darren McFadden's 85 overall rating or Cedric Benson's general ineptitude are any indication, many backfields will require some depth chart adjustments before they can be considered serviceable.

Check back in over the next few weeks as SportsGamer will be breaking down ratings for every position culminating with the release of the full Madden playbooks. Also be sure to stop by our forums and share your opinions on the running back ratings or leave us specific requests and we'll try to get the answers!

No running backs with 99 or even 98 speeds. kinda dissapointing but decent ratings overall and equally generous to about everybody.
Posted by: DougSchneider on June 2, 2008, 5:46 pm
I dont care what the "overall" says for peterson. The rest of the numbers tell you he'll be unstoppable.
How do Fred Taylor and MJD have the almost the same truck ability?
Posted by: Merciless704 on June 2, 2008, 5:54 pm
I have no comment for this...there are way too many over-ratings in this year's Madden....EA dropped the ball, for real...
Posted by: golferman on June 2, 2008, 5:59 pm
Man i cant wait to try barry sanders
Posted by: YounG_Prodijay on June 2, 2008, 6:16 pm
McFadden 97 spd 96 agl 99 acc 90 trck 92 elusive 96 juke lets go
Posted by: cowboyscowboys on June 2, 2008, 7:10 pm
Chris Johnson should have 98 speed just based off his 40 then when he runs away from ppl the first couple weeks of the year 99.
Posted by: BigDog1979 on June 2, 2008, 8:57 pm
Chris Johnson should be at least an 80-81 and have 98-100 speed. He did run a 4.2 in the 40.
Posted by: Ralo187 on June 2, 2008, 9:15 pm
Felix Jones 96 speed & McFadden 97 speed...mmm...no
Posted by: MereNoise on June 2, 2008, 11:31 pm
Hopefully these numbers will all come back to earth after the first roster update.
Posted by: bawler16 on June 3, 2008, 5:40 am
You all just don't understand the logic behind the "100" rating do you? They just don't give out 100s because of somebody's 40 time and shit like that; they give out 100 ratings out of respect for the player and position. They give them to the most well respected, deserving player for that attribute. Brady and Manning having a 100 in awareness=respect. Hester 100 speed even though he is not the fastest player in the league is out of respect. LT didn't get 100 in any stats this year because he didn't have a monster year like his previous MVP year, so it wouldn't make sense to give him "so-called" better stats. But how can they even make LT better, the boy is a beast in real life and on the game! Sean Taylor 100 Hit power, Larry Allen 100 strength, Reggie Bush 100 Acceleration (talk about his yards per carry all day but the boy is fast), Champ Bailey 100 in Man Coverage and Zone Coverage. All those 100s from last year has nothing to do with a stupid ass combine time, that's just respect throughout the league.
Posted by: Raider21Magic12 on June 3, 2008, 7:55 am
Justin Fargas has his best year but what a surprise..Rating goes down. FUCK EA.
Posted by: RavensFTW on June 3, 2008, 9:24 am
Darren McFadden with 90 trucking? Are you kidding me? That guy was about as hard to take down as an anemic parapalegic. I mean, they go WAY too liberal with these ratings.
Posted by: ScottyJC08 on June 3, 2008, 9:45 am
Reegie Bush still Massively over-rated i see........
Posted by: BigBadDice_22 on June 3, 2008, 11:05 am
J-stew faster than Mendenhall wtf?????????
Posted by: MasterDebater on June 3, 2008, 11:28 am
How does darren "i get knocked over by a strong wind" mcfadden have that high of a TRK rating? every year EA proves the fact that when a single company has a monopoly over a certain sport, it is US, the gamers, that suffer the most. EA NEEDS COMPETITION SO THEY ARE FORCED TO GET THEIR B!TCH A$$E$ OFF THE STACKS OF MONEY AND START INNOVATING!
Posted by: BigBoi17 on June 3, 2008, 12:30 pm
Wow, Reggie Bush is still overrated. Well, as far as Vision is concerned. Reggie Bush is a GREAT athlete, but he has the worst vision of any RB i've ever seen. Reggie Bush's Vision should be in the 50's, the early 50's. Darren McFadden ratings are alright, but the 90 trucking is ridiculous. If anything, his leg strength is his biggest weakness. I can already tell, Jags and Pats will be the best teams on Madden 09. Where's Jim Brown?
Jonathan Stewart is a beast damn, I thought his speed would be a 89 at best. The 2 ratings Ea messed up the most on? Speed, Vision...
Posted by: TRLBroncos on June 3, 2008, 3:16 pm
I just think they messed up on a couple overalls. Giving Maroney a 90 was very generous since he didnt have a very good season at all especially for being on the best offence statistically of like all-time. I also think giving Larry Johnson a 94 is very generous also. Yes he is a force in the NFL but he averaged 3.5 yds/carry last year. There is no way he should be 3 ratings higher than Fred Taylor who was really good last year. Last thing since im a Broncos fan im just curious if anyone knows Pittmans rating since they got rid of Travis Henry...
Posted by: cdronm on June 3, 2008, 4:57 pm
Let's see... Brandon Jacobs ranked third in the NFL in rushing yards/per game behind L.T. (99) & Adrian Peterson (95). Brandon's rated a 87? Should have been in the low 90's, 91 perhaps???
Posted by: RAMSvsDAWORLD on June 3, 2008, 5:57 pm
The ratings r fairly equal but there r still some over rated players just like every year but by first roster updates they will chang ps mr. action jackson 39 is a beast
Posted by: BigDog1979 on June 3, 2008, 9:18 pm
Hey bawler16 you must be one of those EA jackasses giving out these BULLSHIT ratings, with that shitty comment. If it was about respect LT,Brady,& P.Manning would have 100 overal. EA said they factor in 40 times when giving out speed, you should know that DUMBASS. Brady & Manning have 100 awareness because they earned it not out of respect. And all the players that had 100 last year were not rookies, so the combine dosen't even count towards them DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: ShankDogg on June 4, 2008, 2:51 am
"Last thing since im a Broncos fan im just curious if anyone knows Pittmans rating since they got rid of Travis Henry..."

Michael Pittman: 80 OVR, 87 SPD, 85 AGI, 90 ACC, 85 TRK, 80 ELU, 72 BCV, 87 STF, 71 SPN, 85 JUK, 73 CAR, 76 CTH
Posted by: broncovault on June 4, 2008, 1:19 pm
Travis Henry is way over-rated even at 87. He certainly isn't 90 for agility. I'm glad to see the Broncos dump him in real life.
I would also like to see what kind of rating Shaun Alexander got even though he doesn't have a team yet.
I also feel, though I hate to say it, that LT is maybe just a little over-rated. Given his age I just don't see 99. 97 is a little more right. And AP is way Under-rated he's a 97 maybe even 98. I really don't see anyone putting up better numbers than him next season, apart from an injury on his part, and that includes LT.
Posted by: jmitch100940 on June 4, 2008, 4:08 pm
Steven jackson has more truck then jamal lewis i cant believe this i can understand marion barber having 99 but jackson havin 98 and lewis only gets 97
Posted by: 9ersfan4life on June 4, 2008, 5:17 pm
Jackson with 98 trucking isnt a strech, he's a
beast, but 92 elusiveness is a little high
Posted by: MasterDebater on June 4, 2008, 11:15 pm
WOW broncovault...thanks for proving what an idiot you are by actually typing the words "LT is overrated" hes the best football player in the league!!! just keep on blindly supporting your broncos you homo...er, i mean, homer.
Posted by: giantcowboy on June 5, 2008, 4:09 am
Cdronm ummm only guys that are considered elite running backs are in the 90's except for maroney and lynch, jacobs is not there yet if he has a good year this year then most likely. But you cant just throw one stat out there and say he is one of the best.
Posted by: vyexpress on June 5, 2008, 3:47 pm
EA very generous i see...an update as soon as the release date to fix so many mistakes is needed
Posted by: TRLBroncos on June 5, 2008, 4:44 pm

Where is Cadillac Williams?
Posted by: 9ersfan4life on June 5, 2008, 9:08 pm
I dont think Cadillac is back yet he was pretty
hurt, or maybe hes not starting anymore and btw
why isnt Addai a little better, I thought he did
good this year
Posted by: cdronm on June 6, 2008, 4:41 am
You know... YOUR RIGHT giantcowboy. Well how about the fact that Jacobs had the 3rd highest yards per carry average (at 5.0) out of the SEVENTEEN players who gained over 1,000 yards last year? Are you happy now? That's TWO stats for you...
Posted by: cdronm on June 6, 2008, 4:45 am
And that average is higher than L.T. last year (4.7), by the way...
Posted by: JaySpringz0413 on June 8, 2008, 11:18 am
Why is adrians truck a 92 everytime except like the last 2 games of the season he was breaking tackles left and right and mcfadden who got knocked down by the wind like i been hearing in alot of the college games i saw him in got a 90 for truck and he aint even played a down yet? cmon
Posted by: Kakashi_486 on June 8, 2008, 4:05 pm
What about Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith and Terrel Davis all though he only played 7 seasons
Posted by: videogamer4ever on June 8, 2008, 9:38 pm
Madden 07 gave R.Bush a high BTK rating and now this year the B.S. rating goes to McFadden. EA what the hell are you thinking with some of these ratings. Just cause a player gets some hype does not mean he should get super high ratings. San Diego will be my team for the 3rd year straight with the rookie backs spelling LT and catching out the back field.
Posted by: northphilly87 on June 9, 2008, 10:35 am
Marion Barber never had 1,000 yars but he has that rating !!!! Come on man, they always overrate players on the cowboys every year
Posted by: Tommy_Trojan25 on June 9, 2008, 8:34 pm
Darren McFaddens actual ratings should be:
98 speed
97 agility
100 acceleration
83 trucking
94 elusiveness
75 vision
97 stiff arm
93 spin move
95 juke move
80 carrying
85 catching

That would be an accurate representation of his abilities and have less people complaining about his truck weapon, which is a little(albeit only a little) inflated.
Posted by: Tommy_Trojan25 on June 9, 2008, 8:39 pm
Marrion barber is grossly overrated, he deserves the truck and stiff arm weapons for sure, but should have no higher than an 87-88 overall, but the BSPN liscence must be rubbing off on EA, they're on the cowboys nuts, they're giving individual players credit for team success rather than simply making the OL better, which is really the only reason they improved, and having gone 13 years w/o a playoff win, even giving each individual credit you still end up with a grossly overrated team as a whole
Posted by: -904-Falconfish on June 9, 2008, 11:34 pm
Why is maurice jones-drew's catching so low? He drops it constantly in madden 08... I want you too look at his film and try to find ONE dropped ball that he should have caught.
Posted by: xWay2talentedx on June 11, 2008, 9:48 pm
Darren Mcfadden doesn't have 90 trk. Shanker Srinivasan must have got it mixed with Fargas because Fargas has 90 trk in 08.
Posted by: Chef880 on June 12, 2008, 11:07 am
I don't like the disrespect towards jacob hester. His trucking should be AT LEAST 90 and his stiff arm at least 85
Posted by: Chef880 on June 12, 2008, 11:12 am
Oh, and for the record, McFadden. 90 trucking is just about right. Yall don't know because of the highlights yall've seen are him burning people, but everyone in the SEC (including my LSU) know's that the dude is a freak. He squat's like 600 or 700 lbs. (Which is more than Adrian Peterson)
Posted by: Chef880 on June 12, 2008, 11:23 am
Darren McFaddens ratings SHOULD be:
98 speed
95 agility
99 acceleration
90 trucking
95 elusiveness
75 vision
97 stiff arm
88 spin move
95 juke move
70 carrying
80 catching

This is more of an accurate depiction coming from someone who's seen this guy on the field and on tv in regional games his entire college career. Notice the carrying is low. (he led college football in fumbles)
Posted by: texanfan90 on June 14, 2008, 11:19 am
Why is mike hart a 74 thats wayy to high for a 6th rounder he was good in colleage but he to short and slow for the nfl he was rated high just because he was drafted to the colts
Posted by: texanfan90 on June 14, 2008, 11:26 am
Tashard choice...jalen parlmele...jacob hester and some more are way over-rated why are so many late rounders being rated so high??? steve slaton a 72 3rd round pick but ea gives jalen parmele a 76 when he wasa drafted in the 6th round
Posted by: Feelthezop on June 15, 2008, 9:37 pm
Stewart faster then mendenhall? wtf?
Posted by: Heavenly007 on June 16, 2008, 8:42 am
Oh My Gosh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris Johnson only a mere 77..... that's Bs.... sure's he is a rookie but he's at least 83.
Posted by: favresnumba1 on June 17, 2008, 5:02 am
WTB more rating for Ryan Grant?
Posted by: cowboys30 on June 18, 2008, 1:37 am
Ok im admitting im a cowboys fan, but i have to say i agree with barber that high. He lead the league in broken takles, and he had over 900 yards rushing as the backup. Along with the fact that julius jones got 164 carries on a team that is a pass first team. So MB3 must of been doing something right.
Posted by: stronghold101 on June 18, 2008, 1:57 pm
Once again im here to lay down the law about the new ratings and the stupid and smart shit comments that i see other ppl leaving (im sure u saw my comments on some of the other ratings positions) lets see where too begin....whoever said ladainian tomlinson is over rated is stupid...he had the worst start of a season in his whole career basically being damn near non-existent in the first 7-8 games and he still ended the season as the leagues leading rusher proving that he is and has been the leagues best running back for the past yrs (04-05 jamaal lewis was the best RB hands down running for over 2000 yrds)i do believe that adrian peterson however will continue to battle LT for the best RB in the league concreting him as the leagues 1st or 2nd best RB in the league for the next 4 to 5 yrs...
ok next...anybody saying that marion barber is over-rated is dumb as hell...first off brandon jacobs on the giants, stature-wise, is the biggest beast as far as half backs go in the league...but marion barber as a second string HB managed to lead the league in broken tackles and fell just shy of a 1000yrd season off the bench...he is the second most vital piece of the cowboys offense (TO being first, yes romo is third cuz i love romo as a player but i dont think he would be half as good as he is without an elite wide reciever which he proved when T.O got injured...so that in my opinion makes him the 3rd most pivital piece of their offence with witten right on his ass) therefore do the math...he recorded 975yrds off the bench averaging 4.8 yrds a carry with 204 carries...julius jones had 168 carries last yr as well...if u take julius jones carries and add them to barber's thats 372 carries and at 4.8 yrds a carry thats over 1700 yrds...over-rated??? didnt think so...felix jones wont get even close to 168 carries this yr unless he surprises everyone with a adrian peterson type yr which is highly unlikely...therefore barber will get close to or more than likely over 300 carries and he'll end up getting 1500 or more yrds this season, trust me...and the big one...mr mcfadden...over-rated? under-rated? lets make this one short...adrian petersons original rating when madden07 came out was a 86...ppl said thats bull hes a rookie blah blah blah...by the first roster update his rating jumped to a 92 because he proved to be a beast on the field...now mcfadden, who is supposed to be more of a physical prospect than peterson was last yr(last yr the only thing ppl could talk about with AP was his lack of durability)is starting out close to the same rating and hes gonna be used the same way reggie bush was used in his rookie yr (and despite reggie bush being over-rated he had a very good fucking rookie yr leading all rookies in cathces as a half back) so as far as mcfadden goes hes pretty much rite on the money
Posted by: koolboi352 on June 18, 2008, 2:11 pm
I just think that RB from the falcons (jerious norwood) should be the fastest RB in the game. if u just look at film of him no other RB can out run him and he led the league in YPC 4 the last 2 years...
Posted by: stronghold101 on June 18, 2008, 6:55 pm
Thats just down right disrespectful to say that norwood should be the fastest RB in the game period
Posted by: dmacfan4life on June 19, 2008, 7:22 am
Norwood is not faster than chris johnson so stop that talk. who ever said dmac is overrated u have never seen him play he is amazing and hes only been playing runing back for 3 years only in college
Posted by: champofchamps on June 19, 2008, 7:43 pm
Ok once again no love for the packers break out players hhmm Ryan Grant was all of 20 yards shy of being the second half leading rusher and he only carried the ball 7 times the last game of the season hhmm he had 119 yards against minnesota and 2 scores against the number one rush defense not even L.T did that he only ran the ball 10 times until Week 8 when he took over and he was what 44 yards shy of 1000 yards with what a 5.1 average? Not too mention 201 against Seattle in the snow and thrre scores He is a home run threat everytime he touches the ball and what does he get 86 overall come on Maroney gets 90 Lynch had all season and barely got 1000 yards bush is 86 coe on Grant should be like 94 or 95 in speed with like 86 elusiveness and vision of like 90 with all the runs to the house and 90 carrying and atleast 90 91 overall
Posted by: pigspot33 on June 21, 2008, 1:40 am
Im gonna b trading Julius jones and mo morris for one of the 80 rookies
Posted by: kortneyd52 on June 22, 2008, 5:54 pm
Im a browns fan but LT is the best
Posted by: StillersPete on June 22, 2008, 7:05 pm
Don't worry the update will change everything
but, Darren mcfadden doesn't PLAY faster than felix jones

Posted by: StillersPete on June 22, 2008, 7:08 pm
Also, about reggie bush, he is not over rated because with his skills, technically he should be one of the best running backs, but he isn't. i think its really hard to give a running back those skills and make his rating not 90+. good job EA
Posted by: jamalewis31 on June 22, 2008, 10:57 pm
I think that jamal lewis trucking should be 96 and his stiff arm 97 thats what im going to do on my copy of madden 08 (i dont want to buy 09 if i can update my 08 rosters for free) but yeah so thats my suggestion
Posted by: goodwinb51 on June 23, 2008, 11:50 am
Tommy trojans a idiot im pretty sure if marion barber started every game and played more than just the second half then he would have been well over 1,000 yards and did you see the play where he broke basicly the whole patriots defense tackles so much for best decade team write marion is one of the best running backs tommy trojan must not know any thing about a good running back by the way cowboys are going to the super bowl this year and winning it against any team
Posted by: goodwinb51 on June 23, 2008, 11:57 am
North philly is dumb to he probably is still mad about how the eagles had a bad season so he has to hate on a team that had a good season you wanna know who is overrated Mcnabb he cant stay healthy for one season and you know what he got injured again in practice this off season so Philly fans you better start looking for a new QB
Posted by: StillersPete on June 23, 2008, 5:21 pm
I wanted kevin smith to be better, he is a power back fo sho, no denying that.
Posted by: StillersPete on June 24, 2008, 7:20 am
Willie parker should be a ninty eight speed if mcfadden is a 97!!
Posted by: tentitans4lyfe on June 26, 2008, 6:23 am
Chris Johnson's speed should of been a 98 or a 99 based on the 4.24 he ran at the forty. No way in the world is his speed and darren mcfadden's speed the same when darren mcfadden only ran a 4.33. The speeds are jacked up.I mean Ray Rice at 91 and Marion Barber at 92 speeds, these speeds are outrageous!!!!!!!
Posted by: tentitans4lyfe on June 26, 2008, 6:27 am

Why is everybody whining about marion barber getting a 93? hes one of the best backs in the league and hes only started one game... and in that game he had about 100 yards in the 1st half alone... hes going to wreck all this year especially with felix jones as a backup
Posted by: Irish-Legend on June 27, 2008, 12:37 pm
Okay i'm a Cowboys fan but i think they overrated Barber a lil bit on his speed. he's not a 92 i don't think.
Posted by: Irish-Legend on June 27, 2008, 12:41 pm
But other than that i think they ranked them pretty good.
Posted by: xraidernationx on July 2, 2008, 11:39 am
Wtf justin fargas in way underrated he was a truck back in 08 and now his trucking 74...wtf...he didnt even start last year and he past 1000 yards rushing
Posted by: xraidernationx on July 2, 2008, 11:45 am
Justin fargas should switch trucking with darren mcfadden
Posted by: polamalu043 on July 2, 2008, 5:39 pm
Fasttt Willie Parker babyyy hes gonna be raw he lead the league in rushing last season until he got injured. I thought hed be higher than 93 bht shittt thats still pretty dam good
Posted by: sf49ers2180 on July 5, 2008, 9:25 pm
Frank gore ratings were a little low but he still managed 93 ovr, joseph addai, and brian westbrook should have higher catch than carry, they recieve more screen passes than carries. jonathan stewert should be rated at least 84 ovr he lead the Pac-10 in rushing and put up like 270 yds in the Ducks bowl game.
Posted by: sf49ers2180 on July 5, 2008, 9:32 pm
Steven jackson was rated a little too high he did play for like 8 games, and many of his ratings are only 2-4 points higher than frank gore's, and how did he get 90 elu he is like 6' 1" 230lbs., gore is 5' 9" 218lbs. adrian peterson was fairly rated considering his 1st year, and the fact that he only rushed for 296 yards in one game because the vikes passing game sucks so bad, we'll have to wait till next year and see if he can boast over 1500 yds.
Posted by: zamora24 on July 9, 2008, 2:28 pm
I think mrion barber should be rated 100 or at least is trk
Posted by: ravensdefence1 on July 11, 2008, 4:43 pm
Hahaha yes the ravens are stacked at runing back lets go check out willis mcgahee's stiff arm man he can stiff arm a truck. lets go baby ravens #1, just one problem tho, how did willis mcgahee go down one after making the pro bowl?, well i guess its just one no need to worry.
Posted by: jamalewis31 on July 13, 2008, 3:05 pm
How come jim brown isnt an all time great
Posted by: jamalewis31 on July 13, 2008, 3:11 pm
Shut the hell up masterdebater LT will do okay this year i predeict he will rush for 1100 yards and 10 T.Ds and AP will lead the league in yards and T.Ds
Posted by: littlehammer on July 14, 2008, 9:03 am
You are kidding me!?! Jamal Lewis with a 92 speed rating?! So he is faster than ronnie brown, steven jackson, and julius jones. And as fast as Michael Turner, Frank Gore, and Larry Johnson. What a load of crap, and im a partial Browns fan... And Tim Hightower deserves a higher truck rating!!!
Posted by: ryguyNpack11 on July 16, 2008, 10:01 pm
OK... im a packer fan... But i love barber he is right where he needs to be... jamal lews had i think is 2nd best year... he needs to be up... LT is the best period... Now RYAN GRANT he only got the role in the 2nd half he ran 4 1000yds. 2nd in that and the 2nd in tds... the best running backs in real life are LT peterson barber lewis grant.. The most under rated is lewis n grant
Posted by: jamalewis31 on July 17, 2008, 6:17 pm
What do you think of marion barbers 99 trucking rating does he deserve it
Posted by: rvkslammer on July 18, 2008, 10:51 am
The biggest insult to possibly the greatest running back of all-time .. you spell his name "Walter Peyton".
It's "Walter PAYTON"
Unbelievable.
Posted by: MB-III_Cowboys on July 21, 2008, 9:39 am
Yes, marion barber deserves the 99 trucking, you'll never see him once step out of bounds and he always makes initial contact, 99 if not 100 trucking
Posted by: dawgpound21754 on July 25, 2008, 11:24 am
Denver - travis henry is not the starter it is selvin young and selvin young is better and

jags - jones-drew is better than fred taylor.

saints - reggie bush is always going to be over rated the longest run he ever had was 20yds and duece McAllister is also overated

titans - lendale white is verry underated

new england - lawerence maroney is verry overated

colts - every year joseph addi is underated

brawnss- jamal lewis is under rated his trucking should be a 99 and so should his stiff arm.

cardnals - edgerrin james is overrated

bears - cedric benson is a free agenthe sucked so bad the bears just realeased him he should be a 0

tampa - ernest gram did great he derserves at least an 89 and also where is carnell williamshe should at least be the back-up

and most inportantally where is jim brown he is the best player to ever play footballn doubt about nowone has ever came close to him he should have 100 in every catigory and his overall should be a 100

i almost forgot why is willie parkerha a trucking rating of 85 it shouldent even be 80

Kevin smith should be at least 81-83 overall considering he was the top rusher in college almost 3000 rushing yards. Also Jonathon stewart ran a better 40 time than Felix Jones so how is Felix Jones speed 96 its more like a 92
Posted by: 17eb17 on July 25, 2008, 3:46 pm
Chris Johnson should have 99 speed and Steve Slaton's ratings are mad wrong his speed should be 94 or 95 and his overall should be around 77-79

I hate the cowgirls but barber is fuckin tite . he should be fuckin in the high 90s in elusiveness . i'll never forget the run where like 6 patriots hit him in the endzone and he eluded all 6 tackles traveling through the back of the endzone and escaping for the best 3 yard gain ever haha.also i think his trucking is like 97 not 99 but his stiffarm should be 99 hes got a meann stiffarm .also i'm a detroit fan and i think kevin smith should be better than 79 . mcfadden is also way overrated ..

Omg i'm sick of hearing " ryan grant ? haha he was the best ! jus 20 YARDS shy of being the leading rusher in the SECOND half ..!" all i remember is LT was the leading rusher in the whole season period . LT won the rushing title not grant . i dont care if he was only 20 yards shy of leading the 2ND half . LT won the title not him. get over it .

Posted by: jamalewis31 on July 26, 2008, 7:22 pm
Thurman thomas should have a higher truking or elusive rating

WENS THE LAST TIME DALLAS WON A PLAYOFF GAME ?
Posted by: goodwinb51 on July 29, 2008, 8:45 pm
When was the last time detrioit had a winning record and when was the last time detroit went to a superbowl when was the last time detroit had a good offensive line and detroit doesnt diserve good recivers like williams he should demand a trade because detroit is not going no where with that QB and i dont see them getting any better because they were dumb and traded one of the best DL

Why is willis mcgahees trucking heigher than his speed
Posted by: dawgpound21754 on July 30, 2008, 7:29 pm
With matt forte his spin is a 65 and his juke is a 75 but his aglity is a 90 how is that possible
Posted by: emoneybk300 on August 4, 2008, 10:42 pm
MArion barber 93 and jamal lewis 90... steven jackson 97??? are you insane... this is nonsense...

Tommy Trojan got it right on Darren McFaddens trucking ability. I agree with the 85 ovrl rating, but if you look at his college footage you'll see the lack of ability to break through simple arm tackles. Either way though...he'll be a great back. Mark my words...Matt Forte is Overrated! I don't get the hype on this guy. Don't be schocked to see Adrian Peterson (of the Bears) take the starting job at the start of reg season. Wow! Jim Brown not put on the game as one of the all time greats? What about Eric Dickerson? I think He was putting up 2000 yd seasons before they even played a full 16 games

Emoney do you even watch football because all of those players you just listed are great football players just watch a real game for once

Where is oh i dont know the all time leading rusher, emmitt smith! does that not make him a legend?
Posted by: aryngodfrey on August 8, 2008, 6:22 pm
Ok why in the hell is darren mcfaddens speed 97 it should of been 95 at not 97 he is not as fast as reggie bush...and idk y marion barbers overall is 93 only players who rush over 1000 and actually start a full season deserve that and cedric bensons speed should b 85 i mean the guy sucks and wat i dnt understand is how players agility is 90+ and there spin and juke is 80 and below ea has gotta do better
Posted by: jtp2191 on August 9, 2008, 10:04 pm
I think Mendenhall and Stewart should of gotten even 82s. i think mendenhall was a little bit better and also the only reason he fell to the steelers is because the panthers thought stewart caught the ball better and because of the lions retarded drafting of gosder cherilus. overall the ratings were ok for me although reggie bush is still overrated. i think lendale white coulda been better he did rush for 1000 yards even if it was on practically 500 carries tho. other than that its pretty good
Posted by: aryngodfrey on August 13, 2008, 3:15 pm
Ofcourse the best offensive player in the league and future hall of famer LT is the best he deserves 100 OVR i mean really 2008 is gonna b a 2000 yrd rushing season for him if not that then 20+ touchdown runs and if not that hell give him a 1000 yrd recieving season i mean he is the best ever
Posted by: emoneybk300 on August 14, 2008, 8:17 am
Goodwin when i said.. i was sayin that marion barber shouldnt be rated higher then jamal lewis and steven jackson is a great back but he didnt play the entire season last year to get a 97 overall
Posted by: jamalewis31 on August 14, 2008, 1:09 pm
