NCAA Football 09: Offensive Player Ratings

July 10, 2008 9:17 pm - Author: Shanker Srinivasan

Although we will be releasing a full sortable NCAA Football roster shortly, we figured we would give you a sneak peak at how your offense will be looking this year just prior to the game's release. We tried to get as many of the names filled in as possible but we weren't able to fill them all. Hopefully some of you guys can help us with the ones we are missing.

We will be looking at your defensive playmakers tomorrow so be sure to check them out as well.

Top 50 Quarterbacks

Top 50 Running Backs

Top 50 Wide Receivers

Top 50 Tight Ends

Wow to travis beckum, he should be the top TE easily

I don't care how much you irrational hate you have for Notre Dame, it is a complete joke that they only have one player on one of these lists (Reuland).

Painter, Grothe, Hall, Boeckman, McCoy, Zac Robinson, Brandstater, Juice, Ganz & even Glennon are all better than Josh Freeman... Boeckman got screwed the worst out of any of them...
Posted by: AHaze81188 on July 10, 2008, 10:42 pm
Boeckman and Robiske got jobbed on there in game vitals. Boeckman should be faster Robiske should have 90 spec But I do think Claussen from ND is better than Sean Glennon.

Where's Holliday from LSU? I mean he's either a rb or a wr, and he's a decent enough player to have cracked top 50 somewhere! I mean you know his speed and acceleration is 99; they have to be.

How is Tyrod Taylor not on the list rated higher than Sean Glennon when he starts over Glennon in real life.
Posted by: offensivetackle on July 11, 2008, 6:30 am
I think that cornelius ingram should be rated higher I also think that my dog Bert Reed should be in the top 50 wide receivers
Posted by: goonstyle55 on July 11, 2008, 8:24 am
Will they post a roster with real names online?
Posted by: goonstyle55 on July 11, 2008, 8:25 am
Ohio state and florida seem to be the best offensive teams
Posted by: Cane266 on July 11, 2008, 9:11 am
The LSU tight end's name is Richard Dickson
Posted by: Dcooksey on July 11, 2008, 11:45 am
Demarco murray is not that slow. your telling me hes 1 point faster than beanie wells. bull, at least a 95 or 96 speed rating.
Posted by: Dcooksey on July 11, 2008, 12:08 pm
Mike Goodson is at least 95 speed. So your telling me hes beanie wells speed. cmon

LSU's TE #82 = Matt Branch but he's a FR!!
---
FSU's WR #89 = Might be Richard Goodman but last years or this years roster shows a #89 :P
---
SMU's TE #86 = Listed as a WR named Quincey Whittington on their official site.
---
N. Texas' TE #92 = A DT named Draylen Ross who wouldn't be a bad TE but not the right person.
---
GT's TE #81 = WR named Zach Fisher... not a good size for the TE spot :P
---
Well, I hope who helps create a good roster will get the numbers correct. It's just not fun when that player doesn't exist :P

I am disappointed once again with ncaa ratings and with my football team "UTEP". They should have put the QB Trevor Vittatoe in the high 80's or in the low 90's he had a QB passer rating of 135.9 he had 32nd best QB rating last year as a Freshman!!
Posted by: EHSheadhunter09 on July 11, 2008, 2:10 pm
They gave Western Michigan more love than usual this year...
Posted by: Cane266 on July 11, 2008, 3:07 pm
Hey ruff edge its not Matt Branch its Richard Dickson. He went to school like 3 minutes from here.Caught a pair of touchdowns in the NC game.

"I don't care how much you irrational hate you have for Notre Dame, it is a complete joke that they only have one player on one of these lists (Reuland)."

Reuland doesn't even play for Notre Dame, never really did. He transfered to Stanford this year.

Damn TE Travis Dekker might be a lil overrated but not as a blocker... #10 overall Te.. IDK you judge...

Career Receiving Statistics

I am so frustrated that EA left Sammie Stroughter out of the game. This shows that EA doesn't do their homework. Stroughter didn't play this last year (his senior season) but he received a medical redshirt in March/April giving EA plenty of time to put him in the game. Did they??? No. EA made a huge mistake by leaving out one of the best WRs in the ncaa.

Can i just say MIZZOU offense will dominate this year???
Posted by: ShimmitySham on July 12, 2008, 3:59 pm
I knew Shawn Nelson of Southern Miss was really good but I didn't think he'd be a top-10 TE for the game. Nice!
Posted by: BulletsnOctane on July 13, 2008, 4:35 am
FSU's WR #89 = Might be Richard Goodman but last years or this years roster shows a #89 :P
---
GT's TE #81 = WR named Zach Fisher... not a good size for the TE spot :P"

FSU WR #89 could also be Greg Carr; SR. He used to wear number 18. If this wide out is 6'6/ 212, it's Greg Carr.

According to scout.com.Three websites(Rivals, scout, FSU's) show Goodman still wearing #9.

GT's WR #81 could also be Anthony Allen; RS SO. A transfer from Louisville. Listed as a RB/A-Back.

I don't know. I just felt compelled to list alternatives, just in case.

Posted by: BulletsnOctane on July 13, 2008, 4:38 am
Sorry, I meant GT's TE. :P
My mistake.
Posted by: abinx on July 13, 2008, 11:06 am
What about Quentin Chaney from Oklahoma. As far as I know he's starting over Tennell
Posted by: Xx_Shady_xX on July 14, 2008, 10:21 pm
Antonio Henton for Ohio state is wrong, it should be Terrel Pryor...their freshman phenom that probaly wont even get to play becuz of beokman, even tho beokman's alright
Posted by: Jonquavious on July 15, 2008, 2:07 pm
Hey Shanker, do you know when is EA's deadline to have the rosters completed? It always seems like its too early, to omit so many players each year. I wonder if they will issue a patch/update?
Posted by: AndreJamalD on July 15, 2008, 11:28 pm
I love how in real life harvin is no where near a top 5 receiver

also as a UGA fan Massaqoui being 92 makes me laugh just like Tripp "I cant do anything right" chandler
Posted by: kortneyd52 on July 17, 2008, 4:48 am
Ohio state is great

Whats the name of michigan true freshman QB#8??
Posted by: snakedoc09 on November 23, 2008, 5:32 pm
Half the people on this list got cheated. But as a Notre Dame fan, I will only list my guys. Jimmy Clausen. Michael Floyd. Golden Tate. Kyle Rudolph. And "Konrad Reuland"? Maybe they mean the injured Mike Ragone...hmmm.
