EA Sports Simulates NFL Season With Brett Favre On Rival Teams

July 28, 2008 2:53 pm - Author: Fred Villarruel

July 28, 2008 – With all the speculation currently surrounding Madden NFL 09 cover athlete Brett Favre and his pending return from retirement, EA SPORTS used Madden NFL 09 to predict how the future Hall of Famer would perform on a select group of NFL teams.  Comparing the results between teams with and without Favre, the Minnesota Vikings stand to gain the most with Favre as the starter, while the New York Jets will miss the playoffs without him.

Brett Favre is currently a playable character in Madden NFL 09, on the “NFL Greats” roster.  In Franchise Mode, players can transfer Favre to the free agent roster pool, and pick him up on any of the 32 NFL teams for the 2008 season.

Multiple news reports have named four NFL teams that Brett Favre may play for this coming season – the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets and Minnesota Vikings. Listed below are the results of the 2008 NFL season simulated in Madden NFL 09, with Brett Favre starting for each of these NFL teams.

Chad Pennington with a 108.4 HA!

Wow. honestly i think the jets should do everthing they can to get farve. if they do that would bring some life back to the franchise. Farve is still a good quarterback so whoever gets him is making a good move.

See the Bucs are the perfect fit.

I guess us Vikings fans better pray for Brett to get where he wants to play.

Favre with over 100 rating almost every time! Give me a break! He's good but not great anymore.

Favre on the Jets would be great...make it happen Woody. That would take them to the AFC Championship at least

He does look good in a Bucs Jersey(no homo)

Man can we stop giving Farve so much prop!! I mean it's not like he's played and won Super Bowls each of the last 17 years. I think the up coming NFL season and Madden 09 is more important than Farve, who couldn't put away the Giants in his own back yard last year!
Posted by: ochocincofan on July 29, 2008, 11:31 am
I think the Vikings or the Bears would be the best sport for favre
Posted by: Sr_Oscar on July 29, 2008, 1:49 pm
Uh... KidTexan, it's FaVRe, not FaRVe. And he is a great qb
Posted by: tampa2D on July 29, 2008, 6:41 pm
Ha the bucs did better without him lol
Posted by: XCounterfeitGod on July 30, 2008, 10:54 am
Ahh Brett Favre has been to two super bowls and has won one of them.
Posted by: doctorj11111 on July 30, 2008, 3:46 pm
No way the packers are better without him. However, he did have a better QB rating than Aaron Rodgers.
Posted by: MicDizzle2 on July 31, 2008, 6:36 am
He could also come to the Ravens.

I noticed they didnt list the INTs for the QB's on the "without Favre" section........possible bias? just asking
Posted by: Rex369 on July 31, 2008, 7:15 pm
There is no way Brett is going to a team in the packers Division. It just isn't going to happen. And he is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
