Madden 09 Training Camp - Setting Audibles

Rudi's lack of speed, combined with the slow development of the play only nets us a gain of four yards when the results could've been much better.

Now that we know this play takes a little longer to develop it's going to be in our best interest to make sure that we have a lead blocker in front this time just in case a defender slips through.

Again, our offensive line does an outstanding job up front.  Also, fullback Jeremi Johnson contributes by running towards the left hash mark looking to make the block on the linebacker.

The fullback clears a path, but we still have yet to gain any yardage as a backside defender approaches.

Rudi's taken down once again after a nice gain of four.

Conclusion

Most running plays up the middle involving the running back seem to have a hard time developing quickly.  Unfortunately, the development of the run is probably the most important key to success.  Still, you'll most likely see dives, slams, blasts, and iso mixed in every now and then by opponents.  However, we don't expect any of these runs to be a staple of gamer's offenses this season.

Should be interesting as I love to run between the tackles!

Your initial problem with the first single back run, was that the play is designed to follow the left guard #77. In the first play you went behind the center, which made the blocker release to the inside, and that is why you got tackled. If you follow the guard you will get as deep as he is for at least 5-7 yards. And on a dive play, that is "money in the bank." Which also makes the play action much more dangerous.

IN REAL LIFE RIGHT NOW YES THE BENGALS DID GOOD IN GETTING CEDRIC BENSON AND CHRIS PERRY BUT YOU SHOULD'VE STILL KEPT RUDI JOHNSON TO LEAD MONSTER RUNNING BACKS
