This first image is a great shot of a monster stiff arm from San Diego Chargers' running back Ladainian Tomlinson.  The best time to use a stiff arm is when a defender is approaching you from the side.  To execute this move press (360 - A / PS3 - X) at the perfect time.

The next move that you're taking a look at above is the cover up.  This move cause your running back to place both arms over the ball, preventing far less costly fumbles.  To execute this move press (360 - RB / PS3 - R1) when running with the ball.

The hurdle is another move that users can make in Madden 09.  This move is best used when an obstacle is in your way and you don't have the time or the space to go around.  To execute this move press (360 - Y / PS3 - Triangle) at the perfect time.

The juke moves to either side look cool, but they take far too long to develop for anyone to consistently use them.  The best time to use this move is if an opponent is attempting to dive at you from one side.  To execute this move press (360 - flick right analog stick left or right / PS3 - flick right analog stick left or right) at the perfect time.
