Check out how point guards stack up in 2K's much anticipated basketball sim. Don't agree with how you team is looking this year? Share your thoughts with us and the rest of the SG community below.  (Yeah, I know the Jazz are listed twice below by accident).

Check back next week as we will be breaking down one position per day. We'll look at the shooting guards on Monday and you know who's going to be at the top of that list...

What.. the... f*ck..
There's no way in hell Chris Paul should be rated 99.
I have a hard time believing that these ratings are the final ones.
Posted by: handlez362 on September 19, 2008, 9:39 pm
Wow I wonder why eeryone has such high ratings now I remember when only one person had a rating of 99 it was Kg now it seems like 6 might have it.
Posted by: CelticBalla32 on September 19, 2008, 9:43 pm
Woah. Talk about high ratings, especially at the top. Looks like I'll have more rating tinkering to do than usual this year.

Thanks for posting, Shank. Can't wait for the rest next week.

2k blew this big time. the ratings are horribly incorrect for so many of the players
Posted by: DomePatrol on September 19, 2008, 10:49 pm
Look at the hate jeez people cant stand to see a player from new orleans get any love. CP3 best PG in the NBA
Posted by: BKSmokez4Dayz on September 20, 2008, 2:39 am
Marbury has alot to prove. He'll be back in top 10 after updates. Marbury is far better than alot of these PGs, and he's still the best pg on the Knicks. Isiah thomas really screwed this guy. Chris Paul 99? I dont think so
Posted by: BKSmokez4Dayz on September 20, 2008, 2:45 am
Steve nash threes 97? thats insane. alot of these pg threes are just too high. No one on will pick a normal team online at all.
Posted by: michaelcr73 on September 20, 2008, 5:46 am
In years past the three point ratings were simply calculated by adding 45 to their 3pt shooting %. Clearly they have bumped this up because Nash should only be a 92 according to those calculations

LOL @ all you guys getting worked up.
Posted by: zmnsr1 on September 20, 2008, 8:52 am
WOW heat have amazing 3[t shooting PGs...SO HAPPY
Posted by: zmnsr1 on September 20, 2008, 9:16 am
And i love how mario chalmers is only 1 rating below Rose. and chalmers has better shooting. good pick heat.
Posted by: PhatDuane2 on September 20, 2008, 9:50 am
Just for your information, just because a player is rated 99 doesn't mean they are completely dominate. and for the recorcd, Chris Paul is a perfectly polished PG, the complete package with no excessive weaknesses. (keepin' it real)
Posted by: eddo2 on September 20, 2008, 10:26 am
TONY PARKER 88 WTF
Posted by: ggunnerr on September 20, 2008, 1:07 pm
Rodney Stuckey only a 74 after how well he did at the end of the year and especially in the playoffs. He should have been at least a 79-80. Unless he is rated higher at his natural position which is SG. Also Kidd shouldn't be that high just cause he schooled some foreigners over in Beijing doesn't make him good again.
Posted by: MrMVP91 on September 20, 2008, 3:09 pm
What's wrong with CP3 being 99 overall? He was clearly the best PG in the league last year, and was 2nd in MVP voting behind Kobe. 21.1 PPG, 11.6 AST, 2.7 STL, 48%FG, 85% FT and also 4 RBG for a PG. That's a 99 overall right there.
Posted by: str8_akademiks on September 20, 2008, 3:15 pm
How many people have ever been rated a 99 in a basketball game?
What kind of stupid logic is him being second in MVP voting making him worthy of a 99 overall? Being the "best" at a certain position isn't enough to warrant giving a player a perfect rating. Hell, the best player in the game isn't even rated a 99 in almost every single sports game except for that sorry excuse for a football game that's called Madden.
If Chris Paul is a 99, than what is Kobe, Lebron, KG or Tim Duncan? The 2k developers really showed their stupidity on this one.

Are you seriuos chris paul was the runner-up in the mvp race and by far the best point guard in the nba last year. Are you watching the games?
Posted by: dee279 on September 20, 2008, 4:08 pm
Unless u aint going to play the game because of the ratings stop complaining about ut. 2k is the best basketball game they have way betta den live, and nba 09 so if the only thing they messin up on is the ratings i think they doin a damn good job and CP3 should be MVP and im sayin that and im a heat fan so he deserves the 99 hes got
Posted by: aceboogie129 on September 20, 2008, 4:11 pm
When your the best at a give position than you are the gold standard and everyone else is judged by you in the same way a couple of years ago nash was it's the correct way to rank players. (Argument for chris paul and his 99 rating)
Posted by: fhuntington on September 20, 2008, 6:31 pm
Are they coming out with a demo before nba 2k9 drops. Chris Paul deserves that 99 rating he should it last year. Kobe, KG,and lebron should be 99.
Posted by: hsadap on September 21, 2008, 2:09 am
CP PPG: 21 (21st)
APG: 11.6 (1st, rate 99)
SPG: 2.7 (1st, rate 99)
ast/to: 4.6 (7th, rate 96)
vertical 38" (rate 81) he can dunk (rate 65)
He is a very quick player (rate 95-95) and good rebounder for his size. CP is a pretty good all around player.
Posted by: cbt1971 on September 21, 2008, 6:01 am
CP3 is the best PG in the league and the 99 ranking is well deserved. However, this means people should reserve judgement to see if Kobe or Lebron are ranked 99. I have never seen either of them ranked higher than 98 on NBA 2K. I was pretty stunned to see the 3pt rating (93) for Baron Davis, he is going to be sick on the game.
Posted by: tjm384 on September 21, 2008, 6:57 am
I heard this game was the beta game as of Tuesday so hopefully these ratings can be scaled back before release
Posted by: dcchan4 on September 21, 2008, 3:06 pm
How come Gilbert Arenas is 95 speed and 97 quickness??? he quicker then CP3? maybe the arenas of 2 years ago, but he hasnt been an explosive player in a long time and coming off more knee surgey i doubt he will
Posted by: MrMVP91 on September 22, 2008, 10:48 am
Mike Bibby is an 85 rated PG? Really? How is he ranked higher then Andre Miller, Mo Williams, Rajon Rondo (who KILLED Bibby in the playoffs, look up the stats for that series), Devin Harris? That doesn't make much sense to me, but whatever, 2K is still the best NBA game out there, and will always be as long as EA is the competition. We ALL know that.
Posted by: MrMVP91 on September 22, 2008, 10:51 am
One more thing, why is Russell Westbrook (rookie) ranked higher then Earl Watson? Earl Watson had a great season last year, very underrated playing for a terrible team.

Jason Kidd ranked higher the Jose Calderon? Wow...that might be the worst one here.
Posted by: PhatDuane2 on September 22, 2008, 10:54 am
And since when is derrick rose slower than all of these cats. im not sure TJ Ford can beat Derrick Rose in a race.
Posted by: cdronm on September 22, 2008, 11:51 pm
My initial reaction (as a Knicks fan) is that Chris Duhon is TOO SLOW. He is much quicker/faster than that.
Posted by: kobe224410 on September 23, 2008, 5:10 pm
What the f*** why is andre miller only a 81 hes so much better than many of those point gaurd and why the he** is CP3 a 99 I have a hard time beliving these rosters are real
Posted by: miglasro on September 23, 2008, 6:26 pm
Yeah seriously Andre Miller only 81. Thats probably the biggest joke I have seen out of all the ratings ive seen from point to small forward. 69 mid range?? No way his ok from mid range, cant shoot the three but. look at his hot spots on nba.com for proof. How is rondo 5 better than miller from mid range!! wat a joke
Posted by: jackstar5 on September 29, 2008, 5:02 pm
I dnt knw about that one tj ford is faster than rose Im a lakers fan a cp3 is the best point guard in the nba and he deserves to be 99 i dnt knw why all these people are hating on chris paul maybe becuz all yall teams got worked by him
Posted by: Ruggedclick on September 30, 2008, 10:40 pm
Why have 2K fu*ked up these ratings? Do they even watch more than 2 regular season games other than the frickin playoffs.Stuckey is way underrated i just wanna smash someone, whoever rated these players in the mouth for real. How in the f**k does a rookie get a higher rating than Stuckey after what he did in the playoffs and throughout the regular season when either Rip or Chauncey were out,he gets screwed over by a retard who don't know sh*t in the 2K office.
Posted by: miglasro on October 1, 2008, 7:02 pm
Settle
Posted by: thomahawk23 on October 3, 2008, 11:38 pm
Chill guys. these ratings obviously are not final because kobe and lebron are both over one hundred. that is just insane. and come on, derrick rose...94 speed WTF?!?
Posted by: spinner716 on October 6, 2008, 2:01 pm
I pray this is right, cause if so they finally went they extra step and put rookies from round 2 in the game as well instead of just round 1 and like 5 from round 2. [note sean singletary went 42 and mike taylor went 55th]
Posted by: spinner716 on October 6, 2008, 2:05 pm
If these are in fact correct [which we'll all find out tomorrow there prob. not =[ and we'll have only 1st round rookies] but if they are correct im going to do some rating tweaks

cp3 i got love for the boy, saw him play all during college at wake cuz i live in north carolina but 99? nah

cp3 - 97
nash - 96
deron & gilbert at 94
baron 92

make felton round 84, stuckey around a 79 and a few other tweaks but for the most part they look pretty decent, lets just pray these rosters are on there!!!
Posted by: spinner716 on October 6, 2008, 8:17 pm
Unless i overlooked it my boy george hill, PG for spurs aint in the game, that sucks
Posted by: GodsSon521 on October 20, 2008, 4:48 pm
CP3 is the best PG in the game so the 99 is fitting. I love Gilbert, but I wouldn't give him the same rating as Steve Nash (who should still be a 96) or higher than Baron Davis. Otherwise, it's pretty good.
Posted by: adzs93 on November 5, 2008, 9:44 am
Gilbert shouldnt be so high he was out half of the season....also williams should be higher than him and rondo and miller should be the same level as calderon

Can support of the Chinese? Is the Chinese market is not it? My English is not good, forgive me of.

Each game is a different design, the score is no different, so the display above the data equivalent to let everyone see who is more powerful?!

Due to the location of the basketball court, these are the players should have their own advantages. LBJ is very comprehensive, so players should be given high marks, but 99 players CP3 such evaluation is not too exaggerated? After all, he only 1.83 ... ...
