The Weak-I Tight Twins Divide is a play that I have used at a couple Madden Challenges already this year. This year the Divide play is run slightly different, but it is still just as effective in my opinion. I ran this play with the Kansas City Chiefs because of quarterback Trent Green's accuracy and throwing power ratings. Believe it or not, it actually helps you to have a quarterback with slightly less throwing power to get the most out of this play. The Divide can be run with almost any starting quarterback, but using one with similar attributes to Green's will be the most beneficial. Watch as SportsGamer breaks it down.

Quick Setup
Step 1 - Shift the linebackers to the left (XBOX - White button + left / PS2 - L1 + left).
Step 2 - Smart route the fullback to a delayed blue route (XBOX - Y + receiver's icon + right analog stick down / PS2 - Triangle + receiver's icon + right analog stick down).
Step 3 - (optional) Hot route the running back and/or tight end to stay in and block to improve protection in the pocket.

Figure 1 - In this picture you can see the offensive assignmetns for the Weak-I Tight Twins Divide play. The first thing we want you to notice is the cornerback on the far left side of the field. The defense may be in man to man coverage, but as long as there isn't a defender in front of our outside receiver we can make a quick pass on the left side of the field. We also want you to notice the the fullback. We want to smart route his route to give us a delayed option out of the backfield.

Figure 2 - We have now changed the fullback's route to a delayed route. In this first example we are going to show you how we like to run this play when the opponent doesn't have man lock on. Then, we will show you how to execute this play when our opponent lines the defenders up right in front of our receivers.

Figure 3 - We snap the ball and take a three yard drop with our quarterback before making a high precision pass to the highlighted receiver. This receiver may not appear to be open at this point in the play, but we know that the defense has little chance of breaking this pass up. Make sure you place your tallest receiver in at this spot on the field to give you the best chance for hauling in the pass.

Figure 4 - The receiver goes into a unique jumping animation to snap the ball out of the sky. Meanwhile, the defender can only watch from below.

Figure 5 - Some quarterbacks throw this pass slightly different, so you may see your receiver go into a catching animation that is similar to this image. Regardless, your opponent can only hope that the computer makes a play for him because it is almost impossible to knock down this pass manually.

Figure 6 - In this image our opponent came out with the man lock on, meaning that each of his defenders lined up directly in front of the receiver that they were guarding. The receiver moving over the middle of the field will be your most consistent read immediately after the snap if your opponent has man lock on. Even if your opponent uses bump n' run, this receiver will get inside position frequently. We could make the throw over the middle now, but we'll continue to let the play develop.

Figure 7 - The fullback releases to the outside as he begins his delayed route.

Figure 8 - We want to make the throw with our quarterback just as the fullback turns upfield to put the defender in a poor position to make a play. You can make this pass by either pressing up to send the running back into a leaping animation, or you can press left as you make the throw to put the ball right on his hip.

Figure 9 - The fullback makes the catch on his hip as the defender turns around too late to make a play on the ball.
Final Conclusion
The Weak-I Divide is a great play that can beat a ton of different defenses. Many people are already running Weak-I because of this formation's ability to attack the flats so well. If you are one of those people, then I would recommend checking out the Divide play to add another dimension to your passing game. I like to come out of the huddle in this play because if the defense doesn't have man lock on I will snap the ball immediately to prevent them from being able to setup before the snap. The quarterbacks that throw the quick pass the best are Plummer, Green, Delhomme, and Brees. However, remember that height is also very important factor.
