Formation Shifting to Create Unbumpable Routes
When formation shifting the Singleback Big WR Option play to the Singleback Tight formation you can create one of the most effective plays in the game to beat man to man bump n' run with. In this next breakdown, MA is going to showcase a play that supplies your offense with two virtually unbumpable routes on the field. I use the word "virtually" because most of the time both receivers will not get bumped. However, occassionally one receiver may get bumped, but you can expect the other to run free upfield. Take a look as MA breaks it down.

Figure 1 - When running the WR Option play as shown above it isn't that effective. However, once the formation shift is made you can expect things to open up quite a bit for your offense.

Figure 2 - The first thing you'll notice about this image is that we have made the formation shift to the Singleback Tight formation. We could begin the play now, but we like to make one more change before we take the snap. The last change we like to make is hot routing the receiver on the far right side of the field to perform a basic curl route.

Figure 3 - As our quarterback takes the snap you can see that all four of our receivers get off the line of scrimmage without being bumped.

Figure 4 - As the play continues to develop it looks like the receivers moving into the flats are open. However, this throw can be very risky and we would recommend that you do not attempt it. Instead, wait just another second for the play to fully develop to find an open receiver.

Figure 5 - We prepare for our receivers to make their breaks back to the quarterback before we make the throw.

Figure 6 - Both receivers break back to the ball as we deliver a bullet pass.

Figure 7 - The receiver comes back nicely to the quarterback to make the catch.
Final Conclusion
Madden players everywhere are still looking for creative ways to beat the bump n' run. Formation shifting the WR Option play to the Singleback Tight formation is a great solution for those of you who are still searching for answers. Another great thing about this formation is that you are easily able to run the ball. Be sure to take this play into practice mode and find a way to work it into your offense.
