Game 1: Vs Tennesee

Before the game the teams are rated as follows:

This should be a pretty even game.

1st quarter

After Trading punts the Titans embarked on a 9 play, 83 yard drive, ending with:
3-4 MIA 5: Steve McNair pass right side complete to Derrick Mason for 5 Yards TOUCHDOWN! (Nedney kick is good)

Miami then went three and out after the Titans challenged the spot of a pass to Randy McMichael and won.

The Titans then marched down the feild again, this time 61 yards,

3-7 MIA 19: Steve McNair Pass across the middle to Tyrone Calico for 19 yards TOUCHDOWN! (Nedney kick is good)

2nd quarter

After a Miami punt, Tennessee's first play:
1-10 TEN 31: Steve Mcnair pass left side INTERCEPTED by Junior seau Returned for three yards (Hopkins, Bennett)

Miami however could not make the most of the INT:

4-13 TEN 35: Olindo Mare 52 yard field goal attempt is NO GOOD (Fell just short)

Taking advantage of the good field position and a 37 yard pass from Mcanir to Derrick Mason, the Titans extended their lead:

4-8 MIA 16: Joe Nedney 32 yard field goal IS GOOD

Things got even worse for miami on their very next play from scrimmage:

1-10 MIA 21: AJ Feeley pass left side INTERCEPTED BY Samari Rolle, returned for 0 yards.

1-10 MIA 40: Steve McNair pass right side to Drew Bennett for 40 yards, TOUCHDOWN! (Nedney kick is good)

Miami then looked to be getting a drive going after a 27 yard pass from Feeley to Snoop Minnis, but on the very next play:

1-10 MIA 35: AJ Feeley pass right side INTERCEPTED by Andre Dyson returned 32 yards (Williams)

Steve Mcnair went to the air staright away, and it backfired:

1-10 MIA 25: Steve McNair pass right side INTERCEPTED by Pat Surtain, returned for 60 yards (Kinney)

Once again the Dolhpins failed to capitalise on the turnover:

4-9 TEN 20: Olindo Mare 36 yard field goal attempt is NO GOOD (wide right)

Miami's defense continued to show that they are not at fault for the score:

3-8 TEN 28: Steve McNair pass across the middle INTERCEPTED by Reggie Howard, returned 9 yards (Mason)

Ricky Williams looked to be heading for the endzone, but then:

1-10 TEN 18: Ricky Williams ran right side for 11 yards. Fumble by Ricky Williams forced by Keith Bullock recovered by Thomas Wright (TEN) returned for 0 yards (Boston) (ball recovered at the 5, ran into endzone, turned and was tackled at 5)

The miami defense held and a Tennessee punt gave the Dolphins the ball on teh Tennessee 47 with 1:18 left in the half.

A pass interference penalty gave Miami good field position, but they could not make anything of it, an AJ Feely pass falling incomplete on 4th down with 40 seconds left in the half.

3rd Quarter

Tennessee's first drive of the half ended badly:

3-10 TEN 34: Steve McNair pass across the middle INTERCEPTED by Will Poole, returned for 1 yard (Mason)

After a Miami punt Tennessee tried to go to work again, only to be denied once more:

3-6 TEN 40: Steve McNair pass across the middle INTERCEPTED by Zach Thomas, returned for 7 yards (Mason)

That was the 5th INT thrown by McNair, and the Third tackle by WR Mason

Finally, with 3:43 left in the 3rd quarter Miami get on the board

4-5 TEN 28: Olindo Mare 34 yard field goal IS GOOD

Thigns got even better for MIA on the very next play:

1-10 TEN 24: Steve McNair pass across the middle INTERCEPTED by Patrick Surtain, returned for 8 yards (Holcombe)

The Titans Defense though came up big:

1-10 TEN 17: AJ Feeley pass right side INTERCEPTED by Andre Dyson, Touchback (Boston)

On the next play however:

1-10 TEN 20: Fumble by Steve McNair (tried to pitch the ball to George)
recovered by David Bowens (MIA) and carried -1 yards

Finally Miami put it in the endzone to reduce the deficit to only two touchdowns:

1-1 TEN 1: AJ Feeley ran up the middle for 1 yard TOUCHDOWN! (2 point conversion failed (Feeley sacked for loss of 6 yards))

On the next drive, Derrick Mason passed 5,000 career receiving yards on a 15 yard pass from McNair with 1:39 left in the quarter. However once again the drive came to a premature end at the hands of the Miami Defense:

That was the 7th INT By the Miami D today!

Following a 46 yard pass from Feely to Boston, Feely showed his scrambling side to add to the possibility of an unlikely comeback:

1-10 TEN 12: AJ Feeley scrambled right side for 12 yards TOUCHDOWN! (Two point coversion failed (Feeley sacked for a loss of 5 yards))

4th quarter

Despite two long runs by Eddie George, teh Titans had to settle for 3 points to take their lead to 11:

4-15 MIA 15: Joe Nedney 33 yard field goal attempt IS GOOD.

Miami came straight back, cutting the lead right back:

3-14 MIA 22: AJ Feeley pass right side to David boston for 78 yards TOUCHDOWN! (two point conversion failed (Matt Turk pass intercepted by Rocky Boiman))

A long drive by Tennessee seemed to end Miamis hopes, putting them down by 9 with 2:57 left and only 1 Timeout plus the 2 minute warning:

4-15 MIA 29: Joe Nedney 45 yard field goal attempt IS GOOD.

Miami gave themselves a slim hope on the last play before the 2 minute warning:

2-7 TEN 7: AJ Feeley pass across teh middle to Snoop Minnis for 7 yards TOUCHDOWN! (two point conversion attempt failed (Feeley pass left side incomplete)

After a failed onside kick all that was left were 3 kneel downs by McNair and the game was over.
