My Keeper (5 players) Team
Five keeper league. Third year. 1x Champions, 2x Regular Season Champions.
Three IDPs. RB/WR/TE Flex. QB: Brett Favre RB: LaDainian Tomlinson RB: Brian Westbrook WR: Terrell Owens WR: Andre Johnson TE: Vernon Davis FLEX: Adrian Peterson (Minnesota) K: Rob Bironas DEF: Colts DB: Marcus Trufant DL: Justin Tuck LB: Patrick Willis Benched QB: Jason Campbell RB: Ricky Williams WR: Roy Williams WR: Dewayne Bowe TE: Ben Watson DL/LB: Terrell Suggs ***Will be cut before the season as needed*** I also had to draft for my dad since he is gone and ended up taking a few players I really wanted for my team, or else the team would be even better IMO. I absolutely love the core I've build over the years. LT, AP, Westbrook, Johnson, and TO were my keepers. |

Re: My Keeper (5 players) Team
Very solid!!! Just 1 question, Whos in your league a bunch of 3rd graders??? J/K, But seriously I would like to see how you built that team over the course of 3 years. Im asking because im a few keepers myself and you may shed some light. Thanks

Re: My Keeper (5 players) Team
lol, actually have some decent FF players in the league. Smart drafting, smart FA, smart keepers are easily the key (obviously). I take a lot of risks in FA and a lot of them have paid off. They made the mistake of letting Westbrook fall to me the first year. They also made the mistake underrating AP last year.
RB, RB, RB. That has been my focus all three seasons. Grabbed LT #2 overall in the first year. Westbrook in the 2nd, TO in the 3rd. Got Peterson last year at #13 overall in the 2nd. Took Johnson in the first that year. The league started off with 14 teams, then 12 last season, now 10. Looking at 12 next year. The talent pool was still surprisingly no better than last year. Value-based drafting is definitely the way to go. I had some software for it last year from Football Guys and entered my own custom projections, but I went on my own this year. I actually had a better draft. Maybe later I can get more detailed in my keeper strategies, tough once you grab LT, Westbrook, AP, and the others, there's not much to the actual keeper strategies, lol.
