NMU Wildcat Board Update?

Alright, I'd like to have a bit of guidance on updating the NCAA mod. I want to give the NMU Wildcats a more authentic rink by updating the rink boards to what is actually there. If I could, I would also update the ice surface. I would be more than willing to share back to the community by offering this up to all you guys (as I know that you’re not getting paid for this wonderful addition to the game).

Is there anyone who would be willing to explain just where these graphics are tucked so I could modify them? I would even be more than willing to do the artwork and email them to any of you to create the install for them…

*edit* Ok, so I played with the team_27.viv using EA Graph to make the ice different, and it winds up doubling the size of the file. I use the CCHA-install.bat (copying over my team_27) and install with no problem. It then crashes back to my desktop when loading the arena...

you need the pnhl/franky25 ads.fsh file you can get the updates over on the server. As well as a board temp/ice temp

Well, I tried playing with the files (I did download pnhl), and I used biggui to compress the files.
I added some logos to the ice surface, re-package into their respective files (gawd their nested deep!!!) and tested it out. It got past the usual crash to desktop point... and then when I got into the game, the ice surface was brightly colored and read "missing texture".

Ugh. I may wind up just msn'ing you my new ice surface for the 'Cats.

I also played with the boards, and noticed that the NCAA mod uses a common board template :(

Any more helpful advice before this "newbie" gives up trying to update?
(I've come to realize from the Nascar Thunder series that anything EA isn't really ment to be modded/painted/updated easily)

Well, it's not much different, but here's the ice surface:


Here is the link to the ice surface as ripped out of the ilogo.viv out of the team_27.viv from arena.viv. when I repack it all, the ice surface is a really weird color and tells me that its "MISSING TEXTURE"

I'm confused.

But I do want to thank you guys for the effort put forth in the mod, and wish I was a bit more up on modding to help out at times. I have added the freshies to the NMU roster, and I'm slowly adding in the "Classic Wildcats"

I'd be willing to share the roster files too :)

Thanks for updating that. Anyway you could update the green unis to have the lettering down the front like the whites already have?

I started working on them... I have a lot of good close photos to work from too, so we'll see how they turn out ;)

Oh, and I noticed a problem with my ice, and re-uploaded the .bmp

Out of curiosity, Is there a way to make an extra jersey for the 'Cats so I can have home (the white), away (the green), and an alternate (the cat logo)?

Yes there is a way. Using NHL View (or INFO). You can add a third, forth, fifth...you get the idea. :)

Aha!!! :D
I got both the Ice (thanks to LH for the assistance, and also to whoever made the blurry more realistic ice temp) and the new wildcat jersey (thanks to whoever originally created it for the game, I had a hard time finding the right font for the Wildcat lettering, so I copied just those into a blank jersey template). I'm noobish to this, so I figured some help couldn't hurt. The New ice (other than the temp its on) is all me :D

I'll post pictures, and the modified team_27 (for the ice) and the modified Uni 0272 I did for the Wildcat jersey (I used NHL View to make it a third jersey) I'll also bundle in the new photos I used for the Wildcat jerseys :)

I'll edit this post later showing the ingames. Too bad I havn't had times to work on the boards (i'm thinking of just leaving them alone, since i'd have to dig through the common file buried in arenas). And, these are for straight up NCAA...
