Preston North End FC: Becks is Back! (FIFA 09)

BECKS IS BACK!
BOY WONDER RETURNS TO PRESTON AS PLAYER-COACH

(PNE) Preston ---News came in yesterday afternoon as press arrived with only one question, "What is David Beckham doing back in England?".

The rumors that the 33-year old LA Galaxy midfielder would be coaching came as a surprise to everyone - including Beckham himself. "I dismissed all conversation of possible coaching," says Becks, "I would not hear it - I am not even 35 yet, there is plenty of football left in me." With all the speculation on where Beckham would end up as a result of a disagreement with Galaxy ex-GM, Alexi Lalas, Becks went on to state that he had fond memories of playing for Preston North End Football Club before he became a superstar. Beckham had been on loan in 1994-1995 from Manchester United, and had scored 2 goals in 5 games.

"When I look back on what I've done, deep down I wish I could have made a difference here in Preston. Now is my chance, which is why I have agreed to go under contract as PNE's first player-coach. I am here to win as a player and as a coach."

The news has spread like wildfire, naturally, throughout the world - Preston North End FC has just been put on the map - thanks to David Beckham. It will be an interesting couple of months ahead as Becks has been rumored to be working on bringing in some foreign talent to get PNE to the top of the Championship and eventually, to the premier league.

Game: Fifa 2009 (PS3)
Game Mode: Manager Mode
Roster: Edited Custom-Tactics for all major leagues
Game Play Settings: World Class, 15 mins
Control Settings: Assisted all except for through pass and lob pass.

TRANSFER AMERICANA
BECKHAM BRINGS MLS TALENT TO PRESTON

Taylor Twellman is known for is never give up attitude, Landon Donavan is one of the best American players and Santino Quaranta will be fighting to get out of the reserves.

(PNE) Preston ---Almost immediately after being assigned the position of player-coach for Preston North End FC, David Beckham has already finalized his three choices on American players to join him in England. They are New England Revolution's, Taylor Twellman (Striker); Los Angeles Galaxy's Landon Donovan (Midfield) and DC United's Santino Quaranta (Striker/Midfielder).

While Twellman and Donovan are somewhat known in the United States, Santino Quaranta is a face that is resembles no familiarity to those of us on this side of the pond.

"This are the lot I picked," says Mr. Beckham, "Each one of them have proven themselves in the MLS - a very underrated league mind you. I believe Taylor [Twellman] has the nack of scraping goals together, while Donovan is a playmaker PNE will surely need and Santino [Quaranta] is a lot more gifted than some have given him credit for."

Controversy has already begun brewing, and Becks has not even met his team yet that aren't American - will this be our season or will it be another rebuilding session of high hopes and undesired results?

I don't like soccer and I know nothing about it, but I'm gonna follow just because it's yours Matt. I love your presentation. I'll try to follow, but I probably won't get what's going on lol.

Lol - I guess I'll have to educate ya a bit on the beautiful game, thanks for the compliments, bud - this is going to be very simple because there are just so many games to be played, I'm still deciding on how I want to do the match report.

Will be fun ride - thanks for those reading.

RAFFAEL DONE DEAL
HERTHA BERLIN STAR TO JOIN PRESTON

Raffael should bring a different approach to the English game.

(PNE) Preston --- David Beckham's first major signing has been the arrival of Hertha Berlin's Raffael. The Brazilian striker's Bundesliga experience was not one to be desired and the club officially announced his listing on the transfer market this past weekend.

"I was not happy in Berlin," admitts Raffael, "The life there was not the one I wanted and the idea of moving to a big club was great - but it just did not suit me. I feel David [Beckham] is doing something remarkable here in Preston - and I am grateful that I will be part of this transformation."

PNE have announced today that the Brazilian will be able to dress for this weekend's home-opening match in Deepdale versus Plymouth. Figures in regard to the deal have not been disclosed to the press as of yet.

How are you getting all these players with Preston??

Nice layout though, will follow, have you thought about checking out Football Manager, demo comes out Nov 2, its like Head Coach but 10000000000000000x better

Not necessarily Preston being the attraction- more that David Beckham is finally a manager and some players want the recognition they deserve - that is the storyline I'm sticking with anyways :)

Thanks for the heads up about FM - might have to check it out.
