Desjardins, Johnsson done in Philly
according to Ed Moran at www.philly.com, it looks like Desjardins is going to retire and the Flyers aren't going to re-sign Johnsson, who Bob Clarke had previously said was seeking a big number for his next deal.
obviously, Desjardins was a great Flyer and will be missed, but he really struggled toward the end of last season. Johnsson...that one will hurt, though i'm not quite sure why he didn't play that well last year even when he was healthy... |

that's an interesting question...
...but if it's true that Kevin Lowe's asking Toronto for Tomas Kaberle and Alexander Steen, then the Flyers can't do that.
the young, talented forward, yeah, the Flyers could offer. but the only young, talented, puck-moving d-man the Flyers have who the Oilers would want is Joni Pitkanen, and, well, that's not going to happen. Pronger's great, but Pitkanen's a lot younger, nearly as big, and just as talented. if he was just a little meaner, like Pronger... |
