2023 had some pretty solid new game announcements given to us on each of the various showcases that were presented throughout all of June. Many of us all plenty of new games to get excited for while also getting new content for existing games. Now I am here to present the winner & loser of this year Summer of Gaming session of game announcement showcases. Which one of the showcases of 2023 had the best overall presentation, the best announcements and most of all the games that everyone wanted to see?

The Winner showcase goes to Nintendo Direct.

Without a doubt Nintendo pulled off a really solid conference showcase of game announcements that everyone wanted to see. It had announcements of Warioware Move It! new content for Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, Detective Pikachu Returns, and a look at a new Super Mario Bros game in the form of Super Mario Bros wonder. Nintendo even finally gave players a first look at the new Pikmin 4 which looked really good as well as bringing Pikmin 1 & 2 onto the Nintendo Switch. A remake of Star Ocean The Second Story was also announced which is given a 2.5D HD remake look to it and it looks superb. The highlight of Nintendo Direct was the announcement of the SNES Classic that never originally saw a release in Europe Super Mario RPG getting a remake on the Nintendo Switch. So, Nintendo you take home victory of this year's Summer Games Showcase Winner.

The Loser showcase goes to Ubisoft.

Ubisoft may have had some cool game announcements like the new Prince of Persia The Lost Crown, the dream of an Assassin's Creed game in VR seems promising but the entire Ubisoft show itself was disaster. From the picture of the livestream going off a couple of times to sound being cut off several times, there were a ton of technical problems. On top of that yet another Just Dance game gets showcased and it is the same game as like every other Just Dance game. The new Avatar game Avatar Frontiers of Pandora may have looked cool but there are not as many fans who care for Avatar now especially if the next movies keep on getting delayed. So Ubisoft you are loser of this year's Summer Gaming Showcase.
