What games did you find so engaging that you couldnt let go of the keyboard/controller and sacrificed your school or work time by sleeping 4 hour or less a day just to beat the game?

I'd get a headache with only 4 hours of sleep and wouldn't be able to enjoy the game.

I found Red Dead Redemption to be extremely engaging and entertaining. The story, the gameplay, and the score is 10/10 - a true masterpiece by Rockstar.

@locus-solus:

Yesterday, I had four hours of sleep played RD till about 3to4 am on my PC, woke up at 8 am, and playing it again right now after work at 11 pm.

I don't feel exhausted with just 4 hours of sleep, rather I feel excited playing this game. I just can't let go of the controller, the story is so engaging.

I hope to play RD2 on my PS5 after completing RD1. But I don't know if the second part is as fun as the first. Let's see.

  • Most of the Total War games.
  • Most of the Civ/Sid Meier games.

"One more turn" syndrome is very real. You look at the clock, it's 11PM, you say "one more turn", you look back at the clock...it's 4 AM.

Also:

  • Stellaris
  • Factorio
  • Satisfactory
  • Cities: Skylines

Yep. All those games can evaporate time.

Always some further goal to work towards.

I found portal 2 to be surprisingly engaging.

And all the total war games, but I take that as a given.

I never sacrificed anything to play a video game but I loved Metal gear solid on PS1. I loved playing it and loved doing speed runs after I was done with the game. I can't think of another game that I fell in love with so much. FFX comes close to that level for me as well.

Honestly? The only game that would fit "sorta" what you are describing is LineAge 2 way back in the day (I think it was Chronicle 4), but it was one time only after I realized that I've been at it for 6 hours and it was 3 AM in the morning...

Other than that, probably Mass Effect trilogy, Dragon Age: Origins, Witcher 3, Read Dead Redemption II (but nothing that I would have to sacrifice sleep over).

I just finished RD, and what a gem 💎 of game. It's 4 am now, and I have to work tomorrow.

Now, back to the old routine of playing just at the weekends. This game was extraordinary that I had had to sacrifice my sleep to enjoy
