What names do you use in-game?

I'm not talking about gamer tags, I mean names for characters. I almost exclusively use the name Ace. It's not creative, it's just sort of my go to generic name. I have been debating whether to start naming my characters Zoiga. I can't get Zoiga out of my head. Anyway, what names do you use for your rpgs and what not?

I like to use "Infertile surrogate mother" for my RPG character whenever possible because it feels like your breaking the lore and no one else is aware.

Some variation of my real first name, something silly, or just something I consider fitting for the world and character.

I use the name Dalinar Kholin alot. I typically use names from my favorite Brandon Sanderson books.

I always use my real name. It make me feel I am literally inside the game.

Usually characters in books I am enjoying, or have enjoyed.

Currently reading the Red Rising sci-fi series, so I have a lot of names from there on characters I've made over the past few months...Sevro, Victra, Howler, Cassius, Electra.

If it's a long-term character (like for an MMO or a "forever" game like Skyrim or something) I'll try to name it after a Dune character. Makes me more invested for some reason.

I use whatever names they came up with. If there is no default then I pick the first name that comes to mind that is random and I don't associate anyone or anything with it.

Make characters that fit the theme of the game usually. The names are not in english though, but the meaning behind the names I gibe are usually on a whim. Don't give them a ton of thought.

I usually come up with something different for each game, but have made more than one Kira Doomfist. There was also a guy I named Dethhammer D (it was going to be Doug, but that went over the limit) and I think I'll use that again sometime.

Either Jack Bauer (from 24 tv series) or something along the lines of Killing-McCilling Face. If it's an online game and the names are taken, I just use some random word from my own language.

In-game, I utilize aliases such as Cipher lade, Phantom Striker, or Shadow Rogue. These names resonate with a sense of mystery, agility, and skill, reflecting my gameplay style. Each alias embodies traits of stealth, prowess, or strategic acumen, enhancing the immersive gaming experience. These monikers not only establish a unique identity within the gaming community but also contribute to an engaging and thematic gameplay narrative, fostering an enjoyable gaming environment.

Typically I use Brent, because that's my real name.

That's a good name. Better than James for games.

@DEVILinIRON: Thank you, mate. When I go Starbucks and they ask for my name, Brent is a difficult name to have. I don't necessarily have the clearest voice in the world, so they rarely hear me right. James is much easier to understand and to spell.

@dracula_16: I go by Peter at places like Starbucks, because when I say "Pete", half the time they hear "Steve".

Doof Dingleberry in most modern set games.

Getrin Ironside is my usual fantasy game name. A favorite D&D character of mine from my teen years.

Usually, I use the same name. But in some games like PUBG, I'm not using my original name.

Esther, a girls name I used to have a crush on when I was in my 20's. That's if I am playing a game where you can chose a women. If I am playing as a guy then I will use my name Arturo or Art.
