Whats the best strategy game so far?

In my opinion it is starcraft 2!

It is the best because it's scenario-based gameplay (I loved the terrain campaign so much) compare to other games, that only provide you with the same game mechanics. For example, I played 'Total War: warhammer 3' yesterday and was bored. Not only was the game relatively expensive, but there wasnt that much innovative about it.. its races and rpg elements dont add much to the game satisfaction.

I wish they produced a third game.

Edit: I rarely play any strategy games as they are losing their charm for me that is. Last strategy game I played is Total War: Three Kingdoms.

RTS games?

Star Craft II is probably the finest RTS game I've ever played, it's just so well made and more up to date than a lot of the retro ones with outdated systems.

Never been a fan of War Craft III's RPG gimmick either for hero units, clashes against the intent of the genre. And that's why War Craft became a massive roleplaying franchise after.

If you'd be interested in an obscure call-out, give Dark Colony a go. Warning, the game is very difficult.
