Moose On Sportsnet Tonight

The Manitoba Moose (39-20-3-7), who currently sit in second place in the North Division with 88 points, take on the Montreal/Dallas shared affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs (31-27-7-5), a team that sits in fourth place (a.k.a. the final playoff spot) in the North Division with 74 points.

The game, taking place at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, can be seen live tonight on Rogers Sportsnet Pacific, West, and East at 6:00 p.m. CT (4:00 p.m. PT) and on tape delay on Rogers Sportsnet Ontario at 11:30 p.m. ET.

The Moose have already eclipsed their best point total ever in the AHL, with the previous high coming in the 2001-02 season under former head coach Stan Smyl, when they finished with a 39-33-4-4 record (86 points). Manitoba has won four of their last five games, and the Moose possess one of the best road records in the AHL with a 20-9-2-4 record. Their last road trip was average at best, as they went 2-2-1-1. In addition, the team who went 27-10-1-2 in the first half have "struggled" to a 12-10-2-5 record so far in the second half.

Manitoba is currently missing two of their key players in left winger Jason King (Concussion) and centre Josh Green (Flu, though possibly something more serious). The team will also be without the services of right winger Wade Brookbank (suspension due to picking up his third instigator penalty last Thursday) and possibly defenceman Johnathan Aitken (Knee) for tonight's game.

Thanks for mentioning it, fergo!

It starts in about 1 mintue from now! But I probably won't be able to watch it for another half hour - and hour because I have company coming over for dinner.

Oh well, I'll give them Moose a half a period or more to warm-up then they can start turning it on after that... preferable when I start watching it. Because I have this really bad luck when watching Moose games... I realize they are on... goals have already been scored by the Moose then I'm like ok I'm going to watch this until they get a goal... then usually either the OTHER team scores or I get distracted by something else for little bit and then. whattaya know... Moose scored while i was gone! Doh!

so hopefully more luck this time around ;)
