Canucks sign 3 players who were all drafted in 2003 by Vancouver.

Bernier, Guenette and McIver were all drafted by the Canucks in 2003 and needed to be signed by today’s deadline of 2:00 PT to avoid re-entering this weekend’s NHL Entry Draft in Ottawa, ON

nothing entirely special but its a start.

also the Nucks picked up options on Wade Brookbank, Lee Goren, and Wade Flaherty

No surprises out of any of those. Brookbank will be up with the big club as Vancouver's enforcer. Goren will probably challenge for a spot on one of the lower lines, and if he doesn't make it, he'll be on Manitoba's top line. Flaherty will pick up the majority of starts in Manitoba this season, and will be the first call-up if something happens to Cloutier/mystery free agent goalie signing or Auld.

I'm looking forward to seeing Guenette, Bernier, and McIver this season with the Moose. I'm guessing that since these were the only signings from the 2003 draft, that Matthew Hansen will end up back in the draft (Ty Morris--who was also drafted by Vancouver in 2003--was released by the Canucks before last season)
