Rumour On Rock 101 This Morning

I heard a disturbing rumour on the Bro Jake show on the way to work this morning...

Jovanovski to Anaheim straight up for the 2nd overall pick.

Hmm, now that one is interesting (referring to the Commodore to Carolina trade that simply wasn't alarming or strange at all).

Didn't they already have like the 10th pick anyway? I think that would be a good enough spot to pick up a Dman if they wanted to get rid of Jovo. I don't see what going to the 2nd spot would do, considering most people are believing that Rask and Kopitar will follow behind Crosby.

I haven't heard any say Rask goes number two. In fact, most people think he will go in the 20s. Jack Johnson or Pouliot are almost the unanimous #2 and 3.

I don't think Bro Jake is a reputable source. He's not a sports talk host, just a DJ. I wouldn't put too much stock in this rumor. I have heard the Jovanovski to Anaheim rumor, but the rumor I heard was that the deal was the 2nd pick and an unidentified player for Jovo. If the Bro Jake rumor happens, I think the Canucks would be ripped off. We need another player to be included in the deal.

Johnson is head and shoulders above any of the other defensemen in the draft and he wouldn't be around at 10.

If Nonis has Neidermyer or another class defenseman ready to sign on the dotted line then I'd be pretty happy to accept this offer. It's pretty widely known that the Ducks are shopping their 2nd overall pick and Burke has always thoughtly highly of Jovo. I'm sure we'll be hearing plenty of Nucks - Ducks trade rumours this year.

I dunno he also does a sports show with McRae on The Team as well. He's in pretty tight with Canucks. At any rate, I guess we'll know more in about 10 hours or so. Can't wait to see how things unfold on teh draft floor tomorrow. :D

Yeah I'm happy with the way it went. When I heard they clocked Bourdon's shot at 94 MPH at GM Place last week I just about creamed in my shorts!!!! :D
