Canucks Depth Chart

I had about ten minutes to waste, so I drew up what Vancouver's/Manitoba's depth chart looks like. This chart assumes that both Matt Cooke and Jarkko Ruutu get signed, and that there won't be any other moves...which we all know there will be.

Edit: I added Michigan Wolverines forward Mike Brown, who is set to sign with the Canucks, as well as all the Moose-signed players. The Moose-signed players are in green/teal.

Bieksa will likely see some games with the Canucks in 2005-06 if he plays like he did last season for Manitoba. Having said that, there's no guarantee he'll be in the starting lineup on opening night. The top 5 spots on D will have Jovo, Ohlund, Salo, Allen, and McCarthy occupying them. The #7 spot will likely go to one of Baumgartner or Butenschon, while the #6 spot will be a battle between Bieksa, Mojzis, and possibly Koltsov and Skinner.

I've heard rumours from both sides of the coin, but I get the feeling Koltsov will return for at least training camp. The big question is whether he'll stick around after that if he doesn't get a spot right away on the Canucks. I think he will stick around and go to Manitoba if he doesn't make the team. I have a feeling the the situation last season was just something that happened under unusual circumstances (lockout).

Keep in mind these are all just my feelings of what will happen, and not necessarily what will happen come September/October.
