With the 91st pick in the 2004 Entry Draft... The Canucks Select:

#29 - Alexander Edler

TEAM: MODO
BORN: 1986-04-21
POSITION: D
SHOOTS: L
HEIGHT: 190 cm / 6'3"
WEIGHT: 88 kg / 194 lbs

Edler is among the lesser known prospects eligible for the draft. He has spent the season playing for Jämtland in the Swedish third tier league, but just recently agreed to play for MODO in the junior league next season. Edler received quite a bit of attention with his impressive play with Jämtland and with his large frame and strength he could become quite the force in the junior league. Furthermore he is technically skilled, reads the game well and is a very good passer. He is offensive minded and does not hesitate to join the rush.

Why is it so hard to find information concerning these trades?

I guess if you want to get technical, it could be said that's the case. In reality, we traded with Dallas (who traded with San Jose earlier in the draft for this pick), and gave them a 3rd round pick in next year's draft for the pick that turned into Edler.

He sounds promising, i think he'll be on the team as one of the defenseman in the next 3 years.

I was hoping that we draft O'Neill.

But it's all good.

I know I was kind of surprised to see him go so low in the draft.
