Morrison for Legace?
Was on SN News. Tambellini dismissed it saying it was just rumor, but the look on his face looked like he was trying to hold something in. I think this trade would be pretty good. Although I like Morrison, we need a goalie badly. I like Cloutier, but he can't cut it as a number 1 with his injury problems. Anyways even though this trade might not happen and probably wont, its nice to hear some goalie rumors :)

Our number one center for an older goalie who's only ever been a backup in the NHL???

Not a trade I'd want to make. Legace isn't much better than Cloutier, if at all, and I think a Cloutier-Auld tandem would be fine as far as our goaltending is concerned. If it isn't we can always make a trade half-way through the year. There's no point giving up our top centre at the moment for a goalie that isn't top-tier, hardly an improvement and has never been a starter at the NHL level.
BTW, where did you hear that Cloutier's groin wasn't healthy? |

Last season was the first time an injury prevented him from playing in the seasons biggest games. A Cloutier-Auld duo sounds good to me

I sincerely hope this trade doesn't materialize beyond the conjecture phase. Legace is a good goalie. Better than Cloutier, IMO. As a wings fan as well, I would even venture to say that he's the best back up goalie in the league by a country mile. I think had the wings given him a chance by now, he would be in the top half of starters in the league, and certainly better than the Chris Osgood of the late '90s.
However unless there is a package whereby the Canucks also manage to pick up someone else in the deal, or are willing to shell out the cash to bring in a top flight centreman, this would be utterly foolish. Giving up your #1 Centre, who also has very good (and elusive, I might add) chemistry with your top two wingers, for a slight upgrade in net is simply NOT the answer. __________________ Trying not to be sick again...and holding on for tomorrow
