Quinnipiac Hockey to Join ECAC for 2005-06 Season

ECAC Hockey extends membership to Quinnipiac, effective for 2005-06 season, replacing Vermont, which is leaving the ECAC for Hockey East in the same season. While I don't expect the Q to compete early in their ECAC career, I think overall iit is a good move for the program. For starters, they get out of the weakest conference in college hockey. And, it is certainly a testament to the University's academic standards as well as their commitment to the athletic program. Interested in hearing anyone's thoughts, but preferably those who actually follow college hockey (read: keep the ass posts to a minimum).  __________________ GO Q!!!

marginal good news, this is a 1-for-1 switch in terms of talent and a net loss for ECAC in terms of collective prestige, QU's AD McDonald has been itching to go to 18 scholarships since jumping to D-1 (AHA allows no more than 11).
What I think sucks is that Quinnipiac won't follow through on their offer to play all league games on the road, that rink is a travesty to the word dump.
