exh. game Czech Rep. vs. Germany 08/25/04 (pics no <3 for 56k!)

well, since most people here don't read recaps with more than 3 lines:
the Czechs won 7-4 after being down 0-2, sub par goaltending on both sides, Germans got a lesson trying to play a superior skilled team with almost no physical defense that has to get better for the tournament else it's gonna be ugly...

Robert Müller of Team Germany (i've seen him much better, got replaced by Oliver Jonas in the 2nd period, Kölzig not dressed)

1st line of the Czechs: Straka, Jagr, Vyborny

Cechmanek got hurt by a shot in the 3rd period...

...and was replaced by Martin Prusek (who had a shutout)

Martin Havlat and Marcel Goc (who scored a beauty again :) ) receive 'stars of the game' award

i'm pretty ashamed that just 7000 spectators were at the game
if there's no sell-out on next thursday vs. Finland i don't believe in hockey interest from the german people anymore...

p.s.: i like the black german jerseys better than the white and the czech jerseys are horrible...

special service for Dsgamby: czech captain = Straka, A = Vyborny and there was no 2nd A (honestly, i looked on every player, perhaps the not dressed Holik gets the A?)

Ya 2 Sens players having good games. Prusek with a nice game and Marty with player of game. How was Christoph Schubert for Germany? I'm interested to see how he does against NHL stars.

he had a good game and scored the 1st german goal with a nice one timer from the left point. on D Seidenberg and Schubert were the only physical ones and that's the only way against a skilled team like the Czechs (honourable mention for Ehrhoff who had a rough start and then got better). i wonder if Schubert will get a chance to play in the NHL...

Why are they wearing the jerseys with Ads and not their Nike Jerseys.

Thats great to hear! I wouldn't mind him as the Sens 6th or 7th defensemen.

Whoa, Straka's the captain! Good call. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say that I like these new Czech jerseys more than the ones they used at Salt Lake City (and Nagano?). Personally I think the Slovaks have the best int'l jerseys of the lot, though.

How did Martin Havlat look?
