Monterey, Mexico -- the CHL has executed an agreement to add a new hockey franchise.

Very interesting... the CHL (Central, not Canadian) has a lot of teams in the southern section of Texas (Laredo, Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio) so I guess it'd fit in pretty well.

That would be interesting. I guess hockey truly is becoming even more of a global game. Good to see.

Yeah, I read a different article on this a while ago. Apparently there is a decent following in Mexico with some CHL games simulcast in Spanish in some areas. Another interesting note, that article also mentions plans for the tiny town of Prescott, AZ. I had heard of the possibility of CHL hockey in Prescott a few months ago, then nothing since until now, so thanks for the article.
