Bauer XXX Gloves

Review Title: Bauer XXX Gloves
Date: May 11, 2005

Rating (Out of Five)

Durability and Comfort (Out of Five):
Durability: N/A
Comfort:

Advantages: After trying on various models in the store (Oakleys, CCM's, Eagle's, etc) I decided to try these on to see how they were. They surpassed every other glove I put on for comfort. The inside is like silk. I found the Oakleys uncomfortable shape wise. Maybe once broken they'd be better, but I didn't find them as great as their reviews got. The eagles were nice, but again I didn't find them to be as wonderful as I've heard. The XXX's fit me perfectly from the instant I tried them on. The feel was just amazing. They are also quite light which was nice too. I think these are a perfect offensive player type gloves. They are quite loose up by the upper part so you have a ton of mobility and the palms grip the stick very well.

Disadvantages: They don't have the tough leather outside like most other high-end gloves. I left the durability blank because I'm not sure how well they'll hold up. So far they have been fine but the outside material doesn't seem quite as tough as other types. Still the fabric seems to hold up quite well. The only other one I can think of is the padding is a bit soft so if you're playing in a dirty league they may not protect as well as you'd want.

Conclusion: These are some great gloves. I tried on a pair of the XX's a few weeks after purcahsing the XXX's and they didn't compare at all. The X's and XX's may have a similar design and look, but they feel leagues different than the XXX's. These are some of the nicest gloves I've ever worn. Like I said I tried on quite a few different types of gloves and not one of them were nearly as comfortable as these were. They also come with a spare set of palms, so when/if they get worn out you can have the backup set stitched on. Not a bad bonus. These gloves have protected me well. There was only one time where I got quite a hard slash where I felt it, and honestly I think it probably would've hurt regarldess of what gloves I had on. These gloves are top notch.

I find the oakley gloves to be great. My hand fits perfectly, and the fingers are the best I've ever put mine in. I tried the XXXs and They feel great. The only downside for me was that the glove fit a little more loosely than the Oakleys did, and didn't have the same feeling I got from the Oakleys. They are really great gloves, just not quite right for me at the moment.

Yeah thats basically how I felt on the other side. The Oakleys were nice, but I didnt like the way they fit.
