I wasn't at the skills competition today, but it seems Chad Kilger beat the NHL record for hardest shot by shooting over 106 mph. the nhl record is Al Iafrate at 105.2, and the hardest ever recorded was ex-Shark scrub Shawn Heins at 106 even. I'm not sure if Kilger's was over that, but it broke 106 so atleast ties the all time record.

When I heard it, I expected Ponikarovsky, or maybe Antropov, but Kilger? in games he seems to have a very average shot, but I guess he just doesn't get time to unleash it. He also won fastest skater.

McCabe would seemingly be the favourite off the leafs, but I'm sure he'd somehow have his shot blocked.

Are u serious? The slap shot is like Kilgers one and only move, he comes down on the wing, realizes there is no chance in hell hes going to get past the D and winds up for a slapper.

Yeah, but Iafrate and MacInnis both used wooden sticks that don't flexas much or give as much power as composite sticks. Not that this isn't impressive.

No Kidding!!! McCabe and Kabby on one pair and Kilger and Kubina the other.

Hardest shot is impressive BUT fastest skater?? That's unbelievable when we have Wellwood, Stajan, Poni and the likes on the team.

I realize this, but about 12 times out of 10 it's deflected into the crowd.
