Re: A New Beginning - A Boston Shamrocks Fantasy Draft 'Chise
![]() LUCK OF THE IRISH ![]() Shamrock receiver Steve Breaston slides into the end zone after catching a David Carr touchdown pass. ![]() Bills running back Adrian Peterson took this handoff to the left side and was met up by Shamrock safety Mike Brown. ![]() Shamrock defensive end Julius Peppers celebrates his fumble recovery touchdown in the fourth quarter. BOSTON (AP)- "Oh great, another David Carr interception," thought Steve Breaston. "I guess I better run after Cato June and tackle him." As soon as those thoughts ran through his head, Cato June fumbled the interception and Breaston was there at the right time, scooping up the fumble and returning it 23 yards to paydirt. "That had to be the craziest touchdown I've ever scored: pee-wee, high school, college, anywhere," Breaston recalls. "That was definitely the turning point in the game." This came right after a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Julius Peppers to give Boston a 27-20 lead. The Shamrocks rode that momentum to a 48-34 win over the Bills. Boston started it off when David Carr, who came off an excellent game against the Chargers, got off to an excellent start, when he found Breaston for a 53 yard touchdown. The Buffalo Bills took the ball to the Shamrocks 1 yard line on their first drive, when David Garrard punched it in to tie it up. After a Rian Lindell field goal, the second quarter started with Carr finding Antonio Gates, the Pro Bowl tight end, for a touchdown from 25 yards out. After another Lindell field goal, Carr hooked up with Breaston again for six. Justin Medlock put one through the uprights to end the half with Boston leading 24-13. Another long drive for the bills was capped off with a Leon Washington one yard score in the third quarter. Medlock hit one from 42 yards out to end the quarter. The Bills were down by seven when they started their first drive in the fourth. Adrian Peterson took a handoff from Garrard and was almost instantly met by Antonio Pierce. Peterson coughed the ball up and Julius Peppers and ran it in. After the freak play by Breaston, Garrard found Peerless Price for a score, and then David Carr threw up a pick six to Sheldon Brown. Down seven and looking for the ball back, on 3rd and goal, Jerious Norwood broke a tackle and put an end to the Bills hopes. "What a crazy game," remarks Coach Pete Carroll. "After the two fumbles recoveries, they showed a lot of composure by scoring two touchdowns of their own. Jerious [Norwood] played decent, but our running game couldn't get going today. I give Paul Posluszny a lot of credit, he worked his tail off tackling today. David [Carr] started off strong today, but struggled in the end. He‘ll have to play better if he expects to be our starting quarterback." The Shamrocks improve to 3-0. Next up is a Monday Night game at Cincinnati to face Reggie Bush and the Bengals. ![]() MONDAY NIGHT SHOOTOUT ![]() Shamrocks cornerback Leon Hall jumps a Jay Cutler pass and returns it for a touchdown. ![]() Bengals runningback Reggie Bush celebrates by high-stepping into the end zone on this 102 yard kick return. ![]() Shamrocks quarterback David Carr throws a strike to Steve Breaston on the run for a touchdown. CINCINNATI (AP)- After back-to-back opening drive interceptions, you figured this Monday Nighter would be a defensive struggle, right? You just don’t know Shamrock football then, I guess. The Boston Shamrocks went into Cincinnati and beat down the Bengals, 66-41. The game started off, after a Matt Stover kick into the end zone, David Carr dropped back and found Nathan Vasher in the flat. Too bad Vasher plays for the home team. Vasher returned the pick 24 yards for a score. The Shamrocks proceeded to get into their no-huddle offense and later, Carr found Steve Breaston for a 11 yard score. After Justin Medlock’s kick went into the end zone, Jay Cutler found Leon Hall on the first play. Much like Carr’s misfortunes, Leon Hall wears the opposite jersey that Cutler was wearing. Hall ran back the pick 35 yards for a score. After a three-and-out, Carr took his team down the field and found Oliver Hoyte in the flat. Unlike Vasher, Hoyte actually is on Carr’s team, and he rumbled into the end zone as the Shamrocks took a 21-7 lead at the end of the first quarter. Medlock’s leg started off a highly scoring second quarter as he connected for a field goal from 45 yards out. Carr then found Jerricho Cotchery for six the next drive. Reggie Bush took the kickoff from out of the end zone and sprung free. 102 yards later, Bush was reminiscent of his USC days, as he put his team on the board. Carr took Boston down the field again and then found his favorite receiver, Breaston, on another score, from 59 yards out this time. Bush followed with a 3 yard touchdown, but as soon as you could blink, Carr found Breaston for a touchdown the third time in the half. Stover ended up kicking a field goal as time expired, and Boston went into the locker room leading 45-24. Bush led things off with another short touchdown run and Stover followed with another field goal. Carr then hooked up with Cotchery again for Carr’s sixth touchdown pass of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Shamrocks finally got some sort of running game started as Shaun Alexander punched one in from 7 yards. Cutler found Marty Booker from 9 yards out on the next drive. Jerious Norwood, just like the game before, had the last word as he ran in from 2 yards. “The only game I can think of one of my teams being so successful on offense would have to be either the 2004 Orange Bowl or the 2005 UCLA game,” Coach Pete Carroll recalls. “Our defense has to start playing better though.” When a reporter asked Carroll about Steve Breaston he answered, “Wow, the kid’s amazing. I mean, three catches, three touchdowns? He’s unbelievable.” The Shamrocks improve to 4-0 and remain the only undefeated team in the NFL. Next week Boston hosts Michael Vick and the Cleveland Browns. ![]() BROWN BEATDOWN ![]() Shamrocks receiver Steve Breaston high-steps into the end zone after returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown. ![]() Browns quarterback Michael Vick walks away dejected as Shamrocks cornerback Dominique Foxworth returns the interception he threw for a touchdown. BOSTON (AP)- Steve Breaston has been surprising everyone this season including himself. “I expected to make an impact,” remarks the star rookie. “But not this soon.” Breaston did not catch a touchdown, but did return both a kickoff and a punt for scores in the Shamrocks 48-34 win over the Browns. Jason Hanson started things off in the game, as he kicked it into the end zone where Breaston decided to bring it out. 104 yards later, Breaston was dancing in the end zone and the Shamrocks were celebrating a 7-0 lead. After a three-and-out, the Shamrocks drove down the field and Shaun Alexander punched in his first of three touchdowns. The score after one quarter was 14-3 after Hanson put one through the uprights for Cleveland. After another Hanson field goal to start the second quarter, Justin Medlock did some damage with his leg as he put one through the uprights as well. The next drive, Michael Vick looked for David Givens but nickelback Dominique Foxworth stepped in front of the pass and ran it back 51 yards for six. However, the following drive, Vick found Givens for the first of three touchdowns, this one was 66 yards out. Alexander punched in his second score to give Boston a 31-13 lead into halftime. The third quarter started with another Medlock field goal, but Vick found former Super Bowl MVP Deion Branch for a 77 yard touchdown. After a three-and-out by the Shamrocks, the Browns had a promising drive until they had to punt to Breaston. Breaston broke four tackles and ran the punt in from 72 yards. Vick started off the fourth quarter by finding Givens again for another touchdown. Alexander hit the jackpot again, as he punched in his third touchdown, but then the Vick/Givens show continued, as they hooked up from 63 yards out. The Shamrocks ran the clock out after that, and improved to 5-0. “What can you say about Steve? The man [Breaston] is flat out amazing,” Coach Pete Carroll says. “Our pass defense was bad today, [Michael] Vick tore us up. Alexander looks like he’s out of his slump, but Carr struggled again. He seems like he has a big game and then a bad one.” The Shamrocks will head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys next week. Re: A New Beginning - A Boston Shamrocks Fantasy Draft 'Chise
![]() ROPED BY THEM DOGGIES DALLAS (AP)- “What can I say,” asks Shamrocks Coach Pete Carroll. “Our quarterbacks didn’t play well today, and it cost us.” It did cost them, as the Shamrocks were the last undefeated them to fall this season, as the Cowboys beat them 52-36. The scoring started early in the first when rookie JaMarcus Russell hit Ronnie Brown out of the backfield and Brown took it 63 yards to the house. David Carr then threw an interception, his first of four on the day, to Adalius Thomas and he took it to the house. Russell kept the tradition of passing it to opposing players as he found Dominique Foxworth and he ran back the pass for a touchdown, his second score in the last two games. Russell hooked up with Brown to end the half with Dallas leading 21-7. The second quarter started with Russell continuing his hot streak, as he found the speedster Devin Hester for six. After another Carr interception, Russell found Eddie Kennison for another six. Coach Carroll switched quarterbacks after Carr’s fourth interception and brought in Brodie Croyle. Croyle proceeded to find the star rookie Steve Breaston for six twice in the quarter. The Shamrocks were losing at halftime for the first time all year. The third quarter started with Russell punching in another touchdown, this time on a sneak. The kickers started scoring then, as Ryan Longwell picked up a field goal. Then like a few games ago against the Bills, Breaston picked up a fumble off of an interception and ran it in. That was Croyle’s third interception of the night and Carroll pulled him and brought in Florida rookie Chris Leak. Russell started off the fourth quarter with another touchdown pass, his fifth of the game, to Kennison for the second time. Leak struggled the fourth quarter, completing less than half of his passes, but he found David Tyree in the end zone near the end of the game. “We had no offense at all, look at our stats,” Carroll explained. “The only one that had a good offensive game was Breaston, but he’s always good. Our defense was bad also. We definitely aren’t taking any days off of practice this week.” The Shamrocks fall to 5-1 and will visit Miami to face the Dolphins next week. Re: A New Beginning - A Boston Shamrocks Fantasy Draft 'Chise
That's sooo many interceptions for one game, you might want to go a little more to the run, like a 60-40 run, and most of the passes to Breaston and Gates.
Mix it up a bit, good luck next week. |

as for the runningbacks, alexander has not been playing like the beginning of the season, he's been fumbling a lot more. i've noticed that i've been using norwood a lot more, but i can't seem to get a better running game right now. and as for the next game, i was in the middle of playing it, and then when darren sproles returned his second kickoff td of the half, i got mad and threw the 360 controller to the ground. needless to say, the right analog stick broke, so i need to buy a new controller or i've been thinking of taping up the analog stick and using it like that. so i'll think of something to do, but i still have an around the league update to do, so i should get that up sometime before tuesday. |

But yeah, figure out something, whether to just put Leak in, and see what he can do for a whole game, or just keep things the same. I'd like to see if Leak could become a good QB in your chise, with Breaston being a Moss-like receiver. Good luck with things, and i'm looking forward to updates. |
