[PS3] - Basic steps to run a good solid passing offense
Here are basic steps to run a good offense and not have turnovers or low completion percentage.
Step 1 check what defensive formation your opponet is in. Step 2 check for man or zone (move outside reciever in motion and if the DB follows to the other side it is man if not it is zone) Step 3 look to see if any safteys come down if one drops it means they only have one saftey deep if both drop then they have no safteys deep most likley and that means you can get a shot down the field also look at the linebackers after the snap to see if he is blitzing so you know if you have to get rid of the pass a little quicker or have to go to a different reciever who is doing a quick route. now it gets interesting If he or she is in zone try these routes or plays Wide reciever screens In routes( beats cover 3 easly jsut need good protection form your o-line) Post patterns(beats cover 2 easly due to the fact that the safetys split to the outside of course deep post wont work against bucs cover 2) Hitch routes work because if you motion passed the slot reciever there is a gap in every zone on defense that this gets into. Also a simple curl route to the HB for a dump of pass works also. But always have a second, third or even fourth opion to throw it to also(never force a pass it doesnt hurt to throw the ball away or even somitimes take a sack) Those are basic routes against zone and are things you can build on. How to destroy man coverage If in man the following routes work very well outs routes and in routes slants curls skinny post patterns over the middle, and with the skinny post over the middle you should watch the safteys after the snap to see if they go into a 2 deep coverage because if they dont the post pattern wont be ppen and you should go to one of your other opions. If they dont split and one drops in a yellow zone look for a out route or streak route down the field(the streak down the feild with one on one coverage with one saftey deep is realy only effect for speed wide recievers) well those are some tips i have so if you want to add more to it just leave your comment because I did not get everything typed because I am going to finish watching the Rays and Red Soxs play Last edited by Justin49712 : 10-13-2008 at 04:08 AM. Re: Basic steps to run a good solid passing offense
your welcome. I learned these basic principles from ZihinMaster on youtube.com when I was struggling early on in madden 08 and then after watching his videos I became a realy good player and was ranked in the top 500 in madden 08 and would have moved up even higher if madden 09 hadnt come out. But these are the building blocks for success on madden.

Re: Basic steps to run a good solid passing offense
if i could throw in a tip or two......
pick a playbook and stick with it. learn the playbook. know what plays to run to adjust to your opponents defense. i prefer the NE playbook, massive amount of shotgun formations. run the draw play when your opponent comes out with 3 down lineman and he spreads the line, this is good for a 8 yard gain sometimes, keeps the defense honest. __________________ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7_1djI2TxU hey landry, tell me how my A$$ taste... |

Re: Basic steps to run a good solid passing offense
If you are just learning and getting comfortable with a playbook learn about 10 or 12 different pass plays from formations you like and then as you learn those expand the amount of plays you use.

Re: Basic steps to run a good solid passing offense
Easy money
5 Wide 2 Left 3 Right 2 on the left hot route to streaks inside receiver on route hot route to slant then smart route (needs to be about 8-11 yards for first down) then buy some time and the 2 streaks will clear out your slantpost roll to the left and fire it in. |

Re: Basic steps to run a good solid passing offense
i would like to add my 2 cents. i havent heard anybody mention anything about audibles very very important. i go with 3 pass and 2 run audibles, also try to use the formations that you like so your opponent doesnt know that you just switched from a run to a pass. hope that helps.
