really cheesy to me,but check zone real quick as they motion the man in
Dont check zone until he gets to the spot he normally snaps the ball at..you will have a flat defender where he throws the ball |

Yeah, That is really cheesey.
It's been done by some here. It's just a quick way to get those 2-3 yrds with a fast player. Zone is the best way. They'll jump it somtime and Pass Deflect it or maybe even come away with an INT. __________________ ![]() |

Yeah, somehow that is within the rules, same with dudes running corner routes and motioning, all of that is just a waste of time, IMO. try manualling to an LB or safety and pinching down, maybe if U have some good controls you can come away with the PICK.

Manually control the saftey or like Blu said audible at last second its easy to stop nothing to bicker about.

it's late, but 4-3 weak flats works also, or 4-3 cover 2

I asked myself WHY people use this route when I first saw it in a game... When I figured out that it beats man to man coverage, ESPECIALLY bump and run, I've been using it ever since.
The best way to stop it is to figure out a way to get your defender between the receiver and the ball IMMEDIATELY after the snap. Defend the flats with either a CB at the corner or one in the slot. Use playmaker against the run as the QB sets up to throw, the defender in the flat will take a step to the inside and make a play on the ball. He should be able to knock it down, or pick it off. If he picks it off... Its 6 points for the defense. If you want to defend the WR with man coverage, you will need to hae someone designated to cover the flat AND depending of how far inside they are, you will need to shift them into the passing lane as the ball is snapped wo they are running as the play starts. Try 4-3 Man flats, Cover 2, Dime Flats Safe, Dime Cover 3, Dime Safe, Nickel 3-Deep, etc... You may even want to use one of them as an audible and jump out of your initial coverage once the QB has made his presnap read. But whatever you do... don't complain about failing to make an adjustment. It's not "cheese" to take what the defense gives you. Especially if they give it to you everytime. Later |
