How Long Have You Been Playing Madden?

Well, I have been playing the wonderful series since 1998 and since then I have not stopped playing it. So the theme of this thread is, how long have you been playing the Madden series, and why?

I have beenplaying the Madden series about 1991-92 on the Genesis and Super Nintendo. I started playing football games back on the Atari 2600 when I was only about 4 or 5 years old. By the time Madden had hit the consoles I had a ton of other football games (John Elway's QB, Tecmo Super Bowl) and so I was excited to add another. I don't think I put Madden down for a good 5 or 6 hours after first playing it. I have bought the game every year since... sometimes on multiple systems... I'd definitely call myself a Madden nut.

I owned every copy since it's inception as well. Started on the Genisis, but switched over to Super Nintendo for the 95 (1994) copy.

I ran leagues for the Atari football game. Was big on NES Playaction football until I found Tecmo. I still own every Tecmo game and play them alot. Only cuz it's a quick 10 minute game.

Joe Montana's came out with commentary was the biggest thing since Pong. But once i played Madden it was all over. No other game has come close for me except Tecmo. I'm such a huge Stats nut.

I have had every copy since the original as well, I think i was 7 or 8 when it came out. I remember losing to my brother 116-0 my first game. He was San Fran and I was Cinci. It was fun, we played in the snow, and my fumbles would go like 30 yards up field and crap, good times.

Took me almost 6 months to beat him lol. Before that I owned Tecmo Bowl and all those other games like RAC mentioned.

Since Madden 92' on the Australian version of the Genesis, the Mega Drive. That game coupled with watching the Redskins win the SB was what got me hooked...Joe Montana was what lured me to the Niners.

Nothing much will change, I will purchase every Madden title in the coming years despite some obvious improvements that need to happen.
