video card question

I care about two things and two things only:

1) dirt
2) money

Madden is pretty much the only high-graphics game I play so I don't care about any other games, and I don't care much about getting every last bit of shine out of the helmets. So my question is: what is the cheapest video card I can get that will enable me to see dirty uniforms without slowing down the game?

I have heard that uniform and field deterioration will be usable "if the video card can handle it" but I've got no idea what that means. How good a video card do I really need? I can go up to about $100 if need be.

Linkage if you know anyplace that beats pricewatch.

thx

oh man you can get a GeForce 4 MX 440 64MB DDR card for well under 100 bucks and that will be fine for Madden.

I'm not to sure but I think somebody said you will have to have a Nvidia card that supports DX9 and if that is the case then hardly any will see it since I think the only Nvidia card that supports DX9 is the FX5900 and thats still over $350 dollars.

I truely hope I am wrong, I have a P4 2.53hgz, 1024megs DDR, 240gigs (3 drives) and a GeForce 4 TI4400 card with 128megs ram and would love to see this stuff.

I would look for a GeForce4 TI 4200 128MB if I were you. From what I've read, it will handle it. It's also right around a $100

Pricewatch is a good source to compare prices and locate hardware.

FOr that price get a Geforce FX 5200, not a bad card at that price, it supports DX 9 and will be better than ANY MX geforce out there

I have a ATI Radeon 9500 PRO OC'ED to a 9700

Hey everyone. I have a question of my own. I really don't know much about video cards or what the latest technology is at all. But anyways I'm getting a new system and it comes with a Ge Force 5200 (128mb). I can upgrade that to a 5600 for $85. How good are these cards. Will the game looke pretty kick ass with these. And how much of a difference is there? Is it worth the extra money?
Thanks in advance.

I found a 256mb card, the new one, for 350, yall think I should get that and put it in my new comp and just go all out or get a cheap 128 for around 100 bucks. In the long run I ll probably buy the 256 neways, but I only play madden on my comp really so I dont know if I would even need it.
