About Dirty Unis...Those bastards!

http://www.3davenue.com/madden2004interview.shtml

"Q. If there has been one truly outstanding feature of the Madden series, it is the animations and general graphical quality. What measures have been taken to make 2004 PC even more realistic? Will Madden 2004 PC feature DirectX 9 extensions featured in ATi/Nvidia's chips?

Madden NFL 2004 PC does continue the tradition of placing a priority on graphical quality. This year the PC version will support the latest in graphical advancements such as per pixel shading, specular lighting, global illumination, and soft shadow techniques. By taking advantage of these features we've been able to create stunning visuals such as metallic (think Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and shiny helmets, reflective facemasks, shiny uniforms, cubic environmental mapping of helmets, and specific time of day stadium shadows. Add all of this up and Madden NFL 2004 PC is one of the best, if not the best, looking games in any genre."

Didn't I read the same thing elsewhere with dirty unis mentioned as being in...I think it was gamespot...

But clearly, they ain't whistlin the same bloody tune anymore. Sorry guys...doesn't look like they know how to properly use pixel shading.

Do the consoles have dirty uni's?

EA should post what Vid cards support the dirty uni's...

I bet my T14200 does not :(

Muntz...the consoles have them.

But the pc version apparently doesn't. Spyfy has said its not in there, other forums report the same thing, and this new interview mentions absolutely nothing about it...so...don't count on it. I think gamespot was misreporting when they said:

"The PC version of Madden 2004 will feature a number of PC-specific additions as well, including enhanced graphics. EA Games recently signed a deal with Nvidia to support high-end graphic effects such as specular lighting and soft shadows that will change the look of the field dynamically depending on the time of day and the weather conditions. It will also have per-pixel shading on its player models so that you'll be able to see players' jerseys get sweaty or covered with dirt and dust. The PC version of the game specifically will include much larger textures that will be about four times the size of those in the Xbox version. In addition, the game will have many, many more player animations, including more-realistic moves like running up the sideline while leaning away from a tackle, as we saw."

This is VERY frustrating, because it had apparently been confirmed as having been in...

Oh well...gamespot only continues to find its place in my mind as the worst source of gaming news...

Sorry to disappoint all...I do hope it turns out to be in the game...

I saw a vid with the Jags in dirty uniforms, but it was a console version.
If we don't get them, maybe we can hope they'll fix it in the first patch?
They do have field degration so its strange they wouldn't also have dirty uniforms

obviously PCs are more advanced than consoles these days and they can't add a simple dirty uni in? sad.... I knew this was gonna happen tho since there were absolutely NO dirty unis in ANY PC screenshots on Gamespot. Everything looked pristine and shiny so I knew something was up
