Thumbs up Re: Madden 08 Sliders

So you do not think your NCAA sliders will be similar or work for this game? Seems like both games have similar problems as both were obviously streamlined with the same engine and flaws. I am interested to see what you come up with as the game has potential.

Re: Madden 08 Sliders

Agreed, I love this game but the fumbling and interceptions are out of control. I would say that on average both the CPU opponent and I fumble at least 4 -6 times a game combined.

I started a chise on all-pro but got so frustrated that I gave up. Even at the all-pro level in this game the A.I. db's have an uncanny ability to jump your passing routes and they do it so quickly and dramatically that there's no way you can see it coming.

I've also been totally unable to use my "finesse weapon" Julius Peppers to get out of any blocks and generate pressure on the QB. I get sucked into a block and then I'm stuck to that blocker, I can spin and finesse all I want. To add insult to injury, my own pass protection seems very poor and I've got a decent o-line.

I've been anxiously awaiting your sliders, used them for 07 on the 360 last year and it made my playing experience 10x more enjoyable.

Thanks!

I tested it out and with minor tweaks it actually does translate pretty good. Now, I'm torn between going with a modified version of NCAA 08 sliders and my Madden 06 Sliders because they both felt pretty good with small tweaks to adjust to 08's game play.

I thought having AWR at 100 on Madden 08 would be suicide but once I lowered the CPU's TKL, KDWN and INT sliders the 3 games I played were terrific. Neither me or the CPU fumbled much which seems to be the case once you start lowering the Tackle slider in EA's games. I had WR's get seperation and I'm guessing once again that was because of the KDWN slider being drastically reduced.

I hit T.O. on a sweet post route and the CPU DB missed timed the ball and I scored on a 53 yd TD. Both RB's were able to find romm to run and that was with the RUN BLK Sliders at ZERO on both sides.............

So there's no doubt in my mind that both the Blocking sliders and Tackle sliders are juiced up in this game. I just have to decide which previous sliders I want to tweak to use for 08 and then I can release a base set for game play to you guy's.

Funny, I tested them with Dallas as well and played a half before bed. I only seen 1 fumble which was out of bounds and had 1 pick. It played and felt just like NCAA as the running game opened up for me. I now have no doubt both games were streamlined and that is why we are seeing the sames faults for each. A few minor tweaks and here and there may be all that is needed.

Re: Madden 08 Sliders

I have more of a question than a comment. I'm not very familar with sliders but am equally as frustrated with the int and fumbles. Yesterday I changed the cpu int slider to 100 on ints and seemed to help a lot only threw 1 pick in a whole game which is better than the 7 before. My question is is that to high or just right from other years or people trying things out.
Any answers are appriciated

Re: Madden 08 Sliders

Ok fellas the base set is up.

I'm not done tweaking but these will be the base set for now. I lowered the RBA sliders down because I set the TKL Sliders at ZERO on both sides because the game felt like NFL Street or something.

I'm still looking at both the KDWN and INT sliders on both sides and the BRK BLK Slider which I have at 35 for now until I get in some more games to determine if it needs dropped down.

By now you guy's know i don't lower the CPU's AWR because that makes the game too easy for me eventually down the road. I set it at 100 because you can build other sliders around the AWR to balance it out.

There's a strong chance I may go up on the RBA slider because I love building sliders that make you respect the ground game. I also know that if the CPU can generate yards on the ground consistently they will have drives that sometimes go 8-10 plays eating up clock and making you rotate Defensive Lineman.

There's still some ideas i want to incorporate into the sliders but these will be the starting point.
