PETE Mahovlich? Sure, he was a great player, but I don't rank him up there with "legend".

I want to see Bobby Orr, Guy Lafleur, Rocket Richard, Terry Sawchuk, Jean Beliveau, Boom Boom Geoffrion, Bernie Parent, Gordie Howe, and about 7 or 8 more Gretzkys before PETE effing Mahovlich.

That, and I would kill for an Elmer Lach figure.

TMP is in the business to make money, and likely that gretzky licensing cost a pretty penny. So they are gonna make a ton of gretz stuff to sell to make that license worth the cost. Plus, you gotta have something of some appeal to the more casual hockey fan. Gretz is known well enough outside of the hockey world that casual, or non hockey fans may ever purchase a figure of him.

I agree to a certian extent, but I'm not sure there is a need for 20 different Gretzky models. I would rather see the community take the Gretzky models and re-paint them with alternate colors.
