Forgive me but I fail to see Marco Sturm in that model.
It looks more like Mario Lemieux. It looks like the eyecolor is wrong as well.

Is there any resemblance here?

Of course you see Mario Lemieux, because his 12" figure was used for this costum!

Aha ok, so this is only a paint job, not a complete modelling job? Still the color of the eyes being wrong bugs me.

Yep, it's just a paint job. Well, for the eye colour: The costumer ins't into hockey that much, so he probably didn't know.

You have good techinque and execution, but you need to concern yourself with the details of a custom.

Now understandably, there are certain limitations when dealing with 12" customs due to the vast lack of other poses to choose from. However, there are a lot of things on this custom which seem quite overlooked. Going off a reference picture from the previous season (to correspond with your use of the CCM tag on the back), I found this:

It shows solid black easton gloves (with sharks coloured easton text), compared to the black and white nike gloves you went with. Now I understand the mold is the nike style, but no attempt was made to cover that up.

Sturm wore solid black graf skates, far different from the ones you are using.

Sturm used an easton stick, not anything like the one mario used...modeled after a nike stick.

It seems you have neglected the NHL logo on the jersey hem.

You are missing a black stripe around the neck.

I haven't yet seen a picture of him wearing easton air pants and a bauer helmet...should be jofa.

The wrong font was used for the nameplate (and it probalby could have been 20% larger)

What KILLS me about this custom though, is that Sturm shoots lefty, not righty like mario.

At quick glance, your work looks good. You can paint the lines, apply the decals and such. But once you look at it a bit, you are missing so many details that they distract from the work. You have the ability to do good work, its aparent from what you've shown here, you just need to take the time to do it.

Sorry to tear your work apart, but I see a lot of talent there, and I just want to see it come out. Keep working hard, can't wait to see your next work.

I only noticed the "mistakes" made with the gloves and the shooting hand. Well, as said/wrote this costum comes from a guy, who usually doesn't make hockey costums (Only NFL). A forum member (not this forum) really wanted to have a 12" Sturm costum, so he convinced him. He actually made that costum based on the wishes of that guy.
I knew it isn't the best costum, before I posted it.
