The Red Sox were able to pound out hits all day against the Marlins pitching staff, but rarely were they able to cash in on these opportunities. Philadelphia -- After a dismal performance on Opening Day against the Giants, the Red Sox wanted to come out and show the league they are for real. They did that, plus a little. Boston put on a power hitting clinic, blasting out a total of 6 HRs on the day, 3 by Manny Ramirez, 1 by Big Papi, 1 by Jason Varitek, and a pinch-hit 2-run shot in the 9th by Wily Mo Pena. Big plays cost Bengals game
After the debacle in week 1, the Bengals were coming into week 2 looking for some positive signs. They got that, plus a little bit in their game against the Cowboys. Even though we lost, the team that played out there this week looked miles away from what happened in week 1.
